Default The Bobcats top priority this offseason should be...

    ...trying to get AL JEFFERSON.

He automatically helps you against Orlando because he can defend Dwight Howard one on one, and Howard has to defend him. He's also more affordable than Chris Bosh, and he's more of a banger inside than Bosh who prefers to shoot 15 footers.

This is probably a realistic option if you pursue him.

A player like Jefferson is a MUST for this team which is in the same Division as Orlando (D. Howard), but if the team wants Chris Paul, then try to work out some kind of multi-team deal to land both Paul and Jefferson.

How would you make that happen (Jackson is expendable, only Wallace is untouchable)?

What are the scenarios...e.g., a sign and trade of Felton?

Paul would be great, but still wouldn't solve the interior problems. The impact of Jefferson (6'10, 265 lb, 25 years old) would be monumental for this team.

    1. Jefferson this summer.
    2. Melo next summer.
    3. CP3 summer after next.

Jefe, Ramon Sessions, Wayne Ellington, Ryan Gomes

    for

Tyson Chandler, Stephen Jackson, Alexis Ajinca

We take on their three biggest contracts in terms of length and total salary (other than KLove). Jefe is the dependable big man we need that can help open things up for other players, a solid outside shooter with Carolina ties, and a nice athletic bench player.

At best, they get a terrific team defender that will let Love flourish in a starting role. At worst they get a massive expiring contract. They also get a proven scorer and veteran leader in Jack who can inject a sense of toughness into the team and a very nice potential big in Lexy who showed (at least in his DL time) that he can put up big numbers. If Tyson doesn't work out, they have Lexy to take his place.

    is so wrong.

Jefferson doesn't play defense at all.

I would definitely be happy if we went after Jefferson. Do what we gotta do as long as Wallace isn't touched.

Defense is the weakest part of his game. It's offset by the fact that Dwight Howard would have to worry about being scored on so he would have to defend Jefferson which allows other players to get to the basket more easily, and most opposing teams would have to double team the Bobcats' post player.

Gerald Wallace should be the only player on the team who is untouchable.

As good as Al is, he can never stick with Dwight. And Dwight is the best defender in the league while not exactly being a focal point of his team's offense.

In order to beat Orlando, we're going to need at least a somewhat respectable outside shooting game... I think we dealt with Dwight better than anyone ever predicted.

Not sure how we can get Devin Harris but he'd certainly be another player I would gladly add to this roster.

Getting a "big" and a "small" that are consistent threats from outside to open the middle for our drivers...Miller, Korver, Reddick, Frye...add anyone else you want but realistically I'm not sure we could do anything other than that...
