Default How long is too long?

LB stated that he did not want the decision about his return do "drag out" and wanted a chance to speak with his family. It has been a couple of weeks since our season ended so I'm interested in what other members think?

My take is this...I'm not excited to have a Head Coach returning that is only coming back because no other team offered him a job...if he really wanted to return to the 'Cats that announcement (IMO) would already have been made by him...

What's your take on this situation...

I just found this and thought I'd include it...nice that some of these writers are so stupid that they continue to call us "Hornets"...

"The Clippers, according to sources, remain hopeful of persuading Larry Brown to leave Charlotte for L.A., but pressure is expected to mount on Brown to tell the Hornets’ brass definitively if he’s saying or leaving so the team doesn’t get shut out in the search for qualified replacements."

That's all it said but here is the link:

I will not take any article seriously when the reporter calls us the Hornets. Its been SIX YEARS.

Ken Berger should "remain hopeful" he ever becomes a credible reporter.

I really have no idea what to think, maybe Brown is waiting for the season to end? Again though, if he were to go anywhere, it would be Phili because that's where his family is, and Phili just hired a coach, so unless he's thinking about an administration job, I think he's staying put.

Heh...my first inclination was to email the dude with that quote and ask him how in the world can he be considered credible when he can't even get the team name correct. Then I realized he has his email "private".

How weak for a sports reporter.

Everyone knows here how strong an advocate I am for Larry Brown...but really this whole episode has me somewhat "perturbed".

He's lost some cool points with me. I really figured the odds were good that he'd be with us til he got out of basketball no matter if his nickname is "Next Town Brown". IMO all he's doing is reinforcing all those negative comments guys like Vescey continue to make about him.

To answer the OP...2 weeks after the end of our season was "too long". All I can hope for is that the decision is really made and we're not out looking for a coach come August/September.

Was LB at the combine by any chance?

If he doesn't tell MJ and Rod after the Finals, they need to start looking. Until then, it's semi-acceptable (for LB, not anyone else). If he had gone to Philly, I wouldn't have blamed him. But LA? Sorry, not gonna be happy with that. Though I'd like to swap TC for Kaman

Now that the Philly job is filled, the fact that there hasn't been some kind of announcement about the coaching situation for next season doesn't trouble me as much.

But I still don't want to this to drag out all summer Brett Favre style

The longer he waits before making a decision the greater the chance he returns.

Word is Larry Brown was in Time Warner Cable Arena this past week, so this has to be good news.

He was either packing his things or looking for his remote.

My major concerns are how this will impact his relationship with MJ and the players...even if he returns.

Dragging this decision out gives (IMO) all appearances that he has waited for a "better offer" so he can bail. How (if he does return) do you think this is going to effect his relationship with players and the FO? If he does return we know DJ and AA are in his doghouse so they're either gone or so devalued at this point we get little back if they are traded.

The whole situation has me very irritated with LB...
