    Default Josh Childress

Just throwing this out here. I have always liked the guy and he got shitted by the Hawks, so was wondering what you guys thought about us maybe getting him this off season.

For the Olympiacos is in the EuroLeague Final Four for the second straight year, thanks in no small measure to Childress's contributions. He is averaging 15.1 points a game in the EuroLeague, second on the team to Linas Kleiza (17.3), the former All-Met from Montrose Christian who joined the team this season from the Denver Nuggets.

2005-06: stood out as one of the NBA's most efficient players • He ranked tied for 13th in the league in steals/TO ratio (0.85), 39th in steals (1.2), and would have led the league in three-point percentage (.492) and been 3rd in field-goal percentage (.552)

2006-07): Had another solid season, as his scoring average increased for the third consecutive campaign • He put up 13.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 2.3 apg (all career-bests), along with 1.1 spg and 0.7 bpg (.504 FG%, .338 3FG%, .795 FT%) in 36.8 mpg • Played in 55 games (13 starting assignments), as he missed 27 due to injury – 19 contests due to a sore left foot and eight due to a stress fracture in his right foot • Led the team in FG% • Tied for 2nd on the club in mpg (t31st in NBA), 3rd in rpg and bpg, 4th in ppg and t4th in spg • Scored in double-figures 39 times, including six 20-point efforts • Averaged 13.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.2 spg (.454 FG%, .222 3FG%, .774 FT%) in his 13 starts • His 2.2 offensive rpg was best among all NBA guards

The hawks didnt have the money to pay him due to them trying to pay Joe Johnson and a few others. But Do you guys think thats possible and we could make a play for him.

On a side note A.I is back on the block.

I disagree, he should of accept the qualifying offer, play out that one year and then leave Atlanta. And no MJ will not sign him.

Hahahaha the last part was a joke. Sarcasm FAIL

But the josh childress debate is the serious thought. He is good and can be had fairly cheap. The hawks know the fucked up by not giving him any money, thats why they are going after him this summer as well.

You know, I would not mind him at all. He can ball a little bit, more importantly he can score. So yes, for the right price I say yes.

We appear to be on the verge of letting our starting PG walk for nothing because we don't have the room to sign him or take back anything in a S&T. No way we're spending the MLE or much of it at all unless we get some serious cap relief.

Remember...just by QOing Tyrus we're like within 2-3 million of the tax.

Why? He's not THAT good for the Olympiacos - as a matter of fact they're actually expressed their disappointment with him for not performing up to their expectations (which may or may not be due to the belief that NBA players are supposed to light their league on fire... either way, for what he's getting paid over there, they have a bit of a legit beef).

Still, I'd take UPS and his cheap and lovely contract along with whatever production he provides over what Childress and whatever joke of a contract that he'd require to sit on the bench behind Crash.

True, I want to see Derrick develop, and that wouldn't happen with Childress. So I change my vote. No thanks.
