I just got it.

My 360 is about 3 years old, Am I just shit out of luck? Or will they replace a 360 that old?

I had that happen last year (it was about 2 yrs old) but that's because my dumb ass bought an intercooler piece.

Bought a new one and it's been fine since.

I'll always jump at the chance to contribute naught and point out that PC owns all. I mean, seriously, most of the games are multi-platform nowadays and, in the odd case, one can always borrow a console to play an exclusive title... not to mention that PC versions are, more often than not, superior to their console brethren (Dragon Age, Fallout 3... basically any moddable game).

So, now that you have a reason to trash that evil box, do so.

I have had 7 xbox 360's which all broke. 1 playstation has outlasted them all by far and it is still ticking.

Also comes with a free dvd player and free online play.

I know, I had no idea the problem existed. Apparently a lot of first adopters with the original units (olddest fat ones) experienced it when Playstation updated the native OS because the hardware was outdated.

I held off for a later release, hoping I'd be okay, but BAM! As soon as I turned the system on, the light turned yellow and nothing would play. Quick Google search told me it's called the "Yellow Ring of Death".


I've had the thing for almost 4 years and never had a problem till it crapper out. That's a long ass time for a gadget to last, especially compared to those crappy 360's.
