This is saying an offer to Tyrus could come as early as today. Best they can offer is full MLE/5 years I think. If Gooden's contract was a full MLE deal that'd be 5/34.

With the contracts Frye and Gooden got anyone really think Ray will not get 9-11?

Other thought...as teams with more money (and willing to spend it) go after TT...what a great deal this was for us...we lost a first round pick and our starting PG and I doubt we can spend to keep the guy...exactly why I did not want this deal...we are the big "L" all the way around on this one...

On the other hand though, I would be thrilled for Phoenix to sign Tyrus to an MLE offer sheet. That would allow us to Match and actually SAVE money as the MLE is below the qualifying offer. We just need Ty to get anxious and sign something before Lebron and Bosh, Boozer, Amare, and David Lee. I can't imagine the Knicks or Nyets signing Tyrus before exhausting their possibilities to sign those guys first.

Yeah I agree...at this point a full MLE offer would probably be a good thing.

With that in mind, Blake, 30, is said to be able to command a contract around the $4.93 million he made last season, something that might not be possible if it were a stronger point-guard class."
Blake's looking for around 5 per.

TJ Ford or T Murphy in a sign and trade for Felton . Spectre starting to look like you got it right .

That would put Felton starting at 8.5 milion

If we can't afford Ray (because of the cap) how can we afford Ford or Murphys' contract?

I don't see how Raymond can think he'll command more than 7-8 mil per. And didn't we offer more than that? If Blake is commanding 5 per, Felton isn't that much better than him, so I figure tag on 2M per year from that...

Felton avg.'d 12 ppg and 5.6 apg in 33 mpg.

Blake avg.'d 7 ppg and 4.8 apg in 27 mpg.

Felton has an advantage defensively with 1.5 spg to Blake's 0.7.

But, if you watched the playoffs, it was obvious those 1.5 spg were more of a product of good team defense.

How about Felton and Diaw for Murphy and Ford? That would be great imo.

If not both then I would want Ford because we need a pg more than a pf.

IMO anything we do (particularly TJ Ford) will be a step down regarding the PG position...but again...if we can't afford Ray we can't afford a "straight-up" trade bringing back the same money...

    Good luck with that!

I might have been wrong about the Suns having only the MLE available:

PHX Suns Capology after the Fyre agreement

Possible TPE from an Amare S&T...plus they think they have a way to manipulate their salary where they can be under the cap and yet still have their MLE. Toronto did something very similar last year.
