spectre...I've always thought he was a good but undisciplined player...I think he would have been a nice fit...too bad he's decided to go back to Spain...

Another interesting variable is that Eric Dampier has a $13 million NONguaranteed contract with Dallas and is supposedly set on getting the full MLE (which he is not worth). The best FA center on the market is Brendan Haywood. If Dallas doesn't resign Haywood and decides not to give into Dampier's MLE demands, Dallas will need a center. They could trade that Dampier contract for Al Jeff or Tyson Chandler. Then the receiving team cuts Dampier and automatically realizes $13 million in cap relief. I suppose other replacements for Dampier in a trade could include Beidrins or Kaman as well.
If Kahn pulls off a Dampier trade, he will have more than enough cap space for Rudy Gay to join the team and create a dynamic Gay/Love forward duo.

That Gooden deal is riduclous. Did the NBA not learn their lesson after all the ridiculous contracts from the past few years? You would think after all the salary dumping that took place the past couple of years that teams would not do anything crazy like that.
Haha. Realistically, I don't think the Mavs would trade Damp's contract for just Chandler. It wouldn't make sense for them financially, especially considering that Chandler is a marginal upgrade. It would be nice for us though.
Glad to see the first domino has fallen though. Now that the chosen one Drew Gooden has signed, everyone else will follow.
Drew Gooden is a team killer. Why the hell John Hammond would get him with his first move since EotY, I'll never know.
