That's just stupid. All you have to do is read the latest on the sponsors Jordan has been picking up this offseason to know this is full of it.
According to Espn we made the 4th worst management move by kicking bob johnson out and getting mj. Huh? I would argue it's one of the best. But the SAME move was also 5th best. Huh?
ESPN has been to kind in this whole summer forecast series.

Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
There are a lot of things you can say about the franchise. Most of them I don't agree with but, this is just completely crazy to me.
Jordan vs Johnson is not even in the realm of close. If you only look at the season ticket increases and corporate sponsorships that have been increasing like crazy, I don't know how you could ever make this arguement.
What exactly did Bob Johnson bring to the table? I still can't figure this out. Don't you have to bring something for it to be missed? Even if Elmo bought the freakin' franchise, he would be just as good or better than Bob IMO.
I just don't get it.
I read the comments to that and the only reason anyone could use was the Kwame Brown excuse but that was in Washington and has nothing to do with the Bobcats. I think we could find our own 93 experts on our forum and come up with a more un-biased analysis than those yahoos.
As a Wizards fan, Bobcats season tix holder I have one thing to say about that. The Kwame pick was almost a decade ago! When will people let it go? It's not like that was a stacked draft anyway. The Oden over Durant goof was def more stupid and No one is all over Pritchard...
Every Town Needs a Team....PLAY THE RIGHT WAY!
I think it's the ESPN jackasses thinking about MJ's GM history. What they obviously don't understand is nothing changed on the basketball side, except the ability to spend more money.
"The Charlotte Hornets name has been a mainstay throughout the region for many years, and we are excited to announce our intention to re-establish this historic brand. We believe that its return will galvanize our fan base by unifying our loyal Bobcats fans with those who have strong memories of our city's NBA predecessor." MJ, 5-21-13
The only good things Bob Johnson has done is bringing a team here and making sure it stayed here. Motives be dammed, without him this wouldnt be possible.
Bob Johnson also helped absorb tens of millions of dollars in operating loses on top of the $300M purchase price. He also did an fantastic job of being the 'bad guy', on the way out further complaining about Charlotte.
Based of the timing of the Bobcats coming to Charlotte, the recession, and the overall poor management of publically funded ANYthing, we needed a scapegoat. And Bob Johnson fit the bill perfectly.
As far as MJ as a GM, people that bring up Kwame Brown are just not educated on the NBA. Kwame was the sought after high schooler, if Kwame wasn't picked first, Tyson Chandler and his oft-injuried legs would've been. See this draft "preview" to the 2001 draft.

We have a culture within the Bobcats of making poor draft picks (not just MJ making poor Morrisons-I mean draft chocies, especially in the 1st round. This is best shown via the 2001 draft results, 5 of the 2001 first rounders have been on the Bobcats roster, the best by far is Gerald Wallace picked #25:
