I'm assuming Harris+Nene would put us back over the lux tax without someone like Jackson going out right?

If I were Melo, I would rather be in New Jersey with a gazillionaire owner, solid post man in Lopez, and a young talented wing in TWill, than being in Philly with basically nothing.

i think denver is just stalling to see if anyone wants to fire off a better offer. they know that njn offer is pretty good/as good as it will get. they are seeing if philly would do something stupid like iggy + holiday or turner for melo. i bet this goes down. maybe not with us, but the basis of njn and den will. plus, melo can see that being the face of the brooklyn franchise when the knicks suck isn't all that bad.

Speaking of injuries, Devin Harris is very, very injury prone. At least Felton was healthy, for the most part. So if Harris goes down like he has throughout his career would you feel comfortable with DJ running things? Seriously? There is very stiff competition in the East this year. People are writing off a lot of teams.

Every year people say the same old shit about Boston and every year they've been wrong. Age isn't a factor when you've got players that know their role and execute game in and game out. Their off season acquisitions will keep their starters fresh. Either O'neal can step right in and start.
This is where Livingston, Henderson and Derrick Brown really need to start contributing and growing up fast. If we get Harris Livingston and Henderson need to give Jax some minutes off at the 2, and Brown and Henderson need to help Crash at the 3. I sure hope we add some help upfront, even if it's to allow Thomas to get a breather. I'm just most concerned about Jax and Crash's minutes (as I'm sure we all are.)

Being the 7th seed in the east is better than being the 5th or 6th seed, and aside from one less home game, the 7th seed might be better than the 3rd or 4th seed. If our true aspirations are to compete for a championship, being the 2nd or 7th seed means we wouldn't play Miami until the Eastern Finals. Golden State won in a first round series a couple years back with Capt Jack, no reason the Bobcats can't do the same with whichever team (Orlando, Chicago or Boston) is the 2nd seed come playoff time.

And as far as the Bobcats not making the playoffs, a year ago we still didn't have Jackson, and we only had TT for 20+ games. Raymond needs to be replaced (even if by committee) and our Center position is not that much different than a year ago (our expectations were just higher last year).

Harris changes the PG spot. LB will do something to change the Center position too (prior to the trade deadline).

BetCats...for all intents and purposes we have 2.2 million and vet minimum contracts to offer FAs. That's it as we're over the cap. We can eat up that 5 million in trades where we take back more than we send out.

Face it, our Bobcats are snake bit and will never get anybody of real substance in ANY trade. At least not this season.

We're in the same boat...I'm (im)patiently waiting the return of Dexter, too. That's a fantastic show.

Although I've never watched Dexter, I've heard nothing but positive things. Glad to hear it's still enjoyable and hasn't gone down the toilet like Weeds. It fell apart after season 3, simultaneously jumping the shark and making 90% of the characters become unlikeable. Hope Dexter doesn't suffer the same fate.

Back to the subject at hand, I have to think Denver is going to cave when they realize they will not receive a better offer anywhere than the one currently on the table. Or they can suffer like Toronto and Cleveland when Melo bolts.
