Boozer suffered the injury on Saturday during the Bulls' day off. According to team sources, Boozer tripped over a bag in his house and fell.

The team says Boozer broke the fifth metacarpal bone in his hand.

They had a horrible start last year too, hopefully with the new coach transition and so many new players minus Boozer, they'll start really slow ths year too.

And am I the only one that finds it odd how many players "trip" and "fall" to months long injuries? I haven't tripped or fallen with more than bruises in my life...

Agreed..this bone is the side of your hand (the largest bone in his pinkie finger) and for him to require surgery and be out 8 weeks? What the heck was he doing, or rather how far did he fall? So we should wait for TMZ to report something more gossip worthy (He tried to karate chop an intruder, etc). What happened to the old days of taking a popsicle stick, some duct tape and a shot of whiskey?

Then again, maybe he has one of those plush backyards with a volcano, and after having a drink or ten too many he misjudged the tarzan rope and fell into his lagoon.
