    Default Panthers Blackout

As of Oct 11, 2010 there are still 1900 tickets left for the Panthers game vs the San Fransisco 49ers on the 24th of October. If they are not sold out 72 hours before the game then there will be an NFL mandated blackout on any TV coverage of the game with in 72 miles of the stadium. This happend 22 times around the league last year with the Raiders leading the stat sheet with 7 of their 8 home games blacked out!

As of right now both the Panthers and 49ers are 0-5, and with Carolina on a Bye week we will still be 0-5. But the 49ers host the hapless raiders who are at 2-3, so there is still a slim chance we will NOT be in a 'Week 7 battle of the Oh-fers'.

Do you think the game will be blacked out in Charlotte?

    A) Depending on Gradkowski's health, Oakland should easily win that game. Hell, the way Jason Campbell played yesterday it may not matter who starts. Oakland should be 3-2, and they're close to being a playoff team.

    B) It will sellout, if only because Marty, Jerry and co. will buy the leftover tickets. If it's under 1k by that week, it'll be a "sellout" even though the stadium won't even be half full.

Yeah, the Panthers will buy the rest of the tickets if they have to. I don't see them having a blackout. You'll be able to tell real quick when the broadcast begins whether the tickets were bought by actual consumers or the team.

You say they will buy them but lets say there are 1000 left, panthers tickets average over $100 each, sure the team can buy them for 30 cents on the dollar, is the Big cat guna spend the 30 large in this time of him cutting everything else?

I changed my ESPN SportsNation Eliminator Challenge pick this week to the Raiders over the 49ers because of you

They'll donate them to charity. That's how they get around it.

    Smart man.

Now watch Janikowski miss another 20-some yarder. SMH. Jackass.
