Love that guy. I know this is just as much to keep himself from being traded as it is wanting to be here, but it's still good to hear, especially after what Raja said when he left.

Here is an interesting story on Nazr. Nazr says he wants to stay in Charlotte, and would rather retire than sign with another team.
"I know everyone says this, but my decision (in free agency) isn't going to be based on money,'' he [Nazr] said. "I'm not going to uproot my family just to play another year or two if this team doesn't want me back. My wife likes it in Charlotte. My kids are in school now, and I don't want to go off and leave them just to keep playing. It's not worth it at this stage.''

nice article, I feel kinda bad for trashin Naz his first year here. He's definitely shown to be a true professional (and a monster on the court at times recently!)
Nice find!
One of the things that gets missed from watching the games on TV is...every single time he comes off the floor, he pats high 5 to every person on the bench (coaches even when they seem distracted, trainers, water cooler guy, teammates and MJ). I know it seems simplistic, but that teaches the younger guys about the TEAM game. Nazr appreciates his opportunity, his actions show he's a good steward to being a professional athlete. He takes LB's comments as intended (coaching over criticism) and I think that has rubbed off on some of the younger players. Is it any surprise that UPS mentioned in an interview the other day, it's important to hear what the coach is saying, not how he is saying it? Hanging around Nazr benefits his teammates in the long run too.
I hope he stays in Charlotte, he could be our annual Juwan Howard/Theo Ratliff.
Give the man a year at the minimum when this contract's up. Maybe another after that depending on his durability. If he can play 20 minutes a night for the next 3 years, then he's a real benefit to the team. To add what BP said, his work ethic during the season and especially during the offseason, is enough reason to keep him around.
It's easy to pull for a guy that likes Charlotte and wants to stay. I hope we keep him and pay him a fair wage regardless of what we could low ball him for. Doing the right thing has a way of coming back around.
love this guy. class act. hope he stays here after his contract expires
I wonder if we'll all be saying these things at the trade deadline, as his expiring becomes a lot more valuable.
