Source: 'No Legs' To Report That Knicks Are Closing In On Melo
    More Nets News

A source with "knowledge of the New York Knicks' thinking" refutes Tuesday's ESPN story that the Knicks have been making significant progress in a potential trade to bring Carmelo Anthony to New York.

The source said there is "no legs to that" report from the Knicks' perspective.

One source insists the Nets have "never been out of the mix" to acquire Anthony, saying that the Nuggets remain interested in Andrei Kirienko, Gerald Wallace or Andre Iguodala in a multi-team deal.

Another source who has been involved in the trade talks continues to believe that the Nets will ultimately land Anthony.

ok we all know this isn't actual "news" but people just printing things. but, let's say we are involved and gerald goes to the nuggets. what we would we need to get back and/or give up for us to sign off on this? try to keep any proposals realistic. the other teams would also have to get something out of the deal that they would approve.

Anyone who values those three equally is fucking retarded. I'm just sayin'.

If we give up Gerald, we need an extended Melo and dump Diaw somewhere for a shooter.

but that's not how it will go. melo will go to NJ and not us. so, is there anything that would make it semi-ok? 1st rounder, young talent, solid shooter, shedding bad contracts?

We'd need to be able to dump Diaw, Gana, Matty, and Najera and make out with semi-all stars at center and point guard, and young shooters. That's it. So, no.

The whole league knows what the Knicks are "thinking", so yeah, I won't be taking this seriously.

I actually posed a question RGM a few minutes ago: Does UPS' playing make Crash more expendable than he would be otherwise?

For example, jump in that Nets/Nuggs deal with Crash going to Denver for Billups. We could probably get some other sweetener to make it nice for us..........TWill? picks?

Psshh. Knicks ain't bad, they ain't nuthin'. They have no hand in this trade relationship.

Kevin Durant is the only player I would trade Wallace for in the NBA. And that's more a matter of age/primes than anything else.

Pains me to say, but if we moved GW, we'd have to dump Diop and one other salary in the process, take back Billups, nuggets first and another team's first (or a nuggets second and other team's second), I'd like to have birdman but we have TT so maybe that wouldn't mesh well, so if we didn't get him, we'd need a better than Nazr (read younger) center who can actually play well (thinking 10+/7+ and able to get 1-2 assists consistently out of the post). This and a bag of chips and I'd consider it.

I'm not on board with any "quality for quantity" trades...esp. when the guy going out is an all star that wants to be here. That shouldn't be discounted so quickly.
