Some downtime this Monday

We may have some downtime this weekend.

The reason is that I will be moving the site to a dedicated box. The move of the files and database should be pretty seamless (famous last words) but propagating the name server information when you do a server move tends to be sporadic over the first couple of days after you make a change. I'll give some more specific updates once I'm a little more sure of the date time that it'll happen.

The benefits of being on a dedicated box are speed, stability and I won't be sharing resources with 500 other sites.

That down time will likey be pushed back to monday or tuesday, I didn't get to finish setting up the new server over the weekend.

If you are reading this post, then we are on the new server.

There may be some sporadic hiccups over the next day or so while the nameserver changes propagate throughout the interwebz, but for the most part the move seems to be done. Hopefully this will avoid any problems related to higher traffic levels for the foreseeable future.

FYI... We probably lost about 30 posts between the time that the latest backup was taken and the server change was made.
