Default The land of misfit players...

After seeing this, it got me thinking. When Oden is release next year, should we take a chance at him? I know he is injure prone but each injury has nothing to do with the previous one. He really just had bad luck, REAL BAD LUCK. The core of the team will still be intact next year and with DJ coming around, Oden can be the piece we need (if health) to put us right over the top making a run for the big game. He is still very young.

My guess is Dallas would spend more than anyone for him. Or Minny.

He has been injury prone since high school. Let us first see if he stays healthy this year and make sure that old fart is gone before we try to sign another young player.

How Livingston does this year will probably have some impact. It's MJ's money, if he gets burned by a 'rehab' project this year, he's probably not too inclined to take a chance next year....and if Livingston is successful and a great story, MJ would probably be willing to spend a few more dollars on a medical project.

Taking Oden or Durant was a tough call at the Draft. And you cannot blame Portland for going with a talented young big. But in retrospect, wow did OKC ever come out for the better!

Being that he is injure prone, I think he would work best in the Center by committee. He wont have the stress his body by playing most of the game for the season. Thats the risk/reward thing about him. If he finally gets over the injury bug, he can become the center that people always thought he could be. I just think hes one player we should keep an eye on and just see how things are turn out for him this year.

Portland already has a pretty good committee, though, yet it seems that all of them get injured. Maybe it would be different for Oden here, and I'd certainly spend a little money on a short contract on the chance that he works out, but I think it would depend on a lot of outside things like: who else is available, does Nazr resign for the minimum, etc.
    He's certainly got some talent.

I think it might have more to do with how many unknowns we have at the 5 this year.
Will Kwame get up to NBA speed....
Is Nazr really as good as he looked pre_injury last season, I loved that little jump shot from the elbow he had last year!
Is Drop really as good as he looked in preseason, he had a steal last night..... let me say that again, DROP HAD A STEAL!!!!!
maybe we don't need a center, or maybe we do.......
