To further the 'attraction to Houston' question, no state income tax is a big perk compared to other markets (NY, NJ, Milwaukee, Chicago). The fan interaction helps...but the dollars making it into the bank account make a big difference in free-agency.
Other Texas teams and Florida teams have same advantage...but may not have same fan involvement.
