Floor Seats
Just wanted to share a quick story about last nights Spurs game. Walking to my regular seats last night I was approached by Fred Whitfield about a seat upgrade. I obviously accepted and he mentioned that they were "pretty good seats".
I'm thinking Im about to get what I usually get from my ticket rep, which is very very nice behind the basket seats on the first or second row. So I get to the usher in section 114 and he quickly lets me know that I have center court floor seats. Literally the best seat in the NBA. After I gathered myself up off the floor and stopped sobbing in disbelief I go to the "backcourt" area to get a wrist band for all the free food and booze and the like. Spent much of the first quarter eating a quick snack and getting some beers. Then we decided it was time to hit the seats and get into the game.
That was a good plan except for the fact that when we got to our previously designated seats someone was in them. Not just someone, but Nelly and Ashanti. Yes, thats right I got my seats stolen by Nelly and Ashanti. I just wish I had my phone out to record the look on the sweet ushers face when I showed her my tickets. She was trying to figure out how in the world she was going to ask a minority owner to switch seats with some schlub. We saw some seats a little further down the row and let her know that the tickets were free upgrades and that we didnt mind in the least moving down and taking the free ones. After all, its floor seats.
The usher was visibly relieved and we took our seats. Minutes later Gerald Wallace does what he does best and comes crashing into our seats leaving me with a nice size 13 strawberry on my leg and my buddy with what i amateurly diagnosed as a Grade 1 concussion. It was awesome! So if you watched the game last night and saw Gerald barrel into the crowd after a loose ball and saw the two schmucks grinning and high fiving Gerald when he crawled back onto the court.... that was me!
In the end it was a tough loss, but the experience was pretty incredible. I cant recommend those premium seats enough. So thats it my little story I wanted to pass along to the Bobcat faithful. Go to the games, spend the 20 bucks for a seat... you never know what you might end up getting into.
And if Mr. Whitfield or someone in the Bobcats front office like Michael Thompson happens to see this ... Thank you very very much, you made a diehard Bobcats fan's night.

Ha, I was a few rows back and I saw Crash running towards you after the loose ball. I told my buddy, "Whoever that guy is...he's about to get Shaq'd." Glad he did a good enough job avoiding you where you guys didn't get majorly hurt.
Cool story too. I bet you guys had a blast.
Newbie here... I was at the game last night and 1) saw that incident you just described. Hilarious, but glad you guys didn't get hurt. Worth it I'm sure. 2) I also ran into Fred and got upgrades to section 106. Very cool! And yes, I'm season ticket holder as well so it definitely beat my normal seats in section 225.
Yeah, I saw that. At least Crash gave a high 5 after. Amp and I were right behind the basket near you, two rows up. I noticed Nelly, but I guess I just missed Ashanti (not that I have her looks memorized or anything). But that's a sweet story.

It was a killer time, just happened upon Fred at the exact right time. really lucky. my buddy said his ear is swole up today, and i told him after that UFC style knee to the head, hes lucky hes not in a neck brace.
and Ziggy I considered throwing down, but it was at center court and he was with his girl, so I figured I'd save him some dignity and let it slide

Great story but should have asked for autograph or a pic with them. I run up on upgrades once in awhile but never like that. Congrats and go Bobcats
