    Default Jackson Staying Positive

    Yannis Koutroupis - Hoopsworld

The Charlotte Bobcats have struggled out of the gates this year, currently possessing an 8-15 record overall. They're on the outside looking in of the playoff picture and looking to make some moves to improve their roster, but Stephen Jackson isn't letting the team's issues get him frustrated. Further exhibiting his growth as a teammate and player, Jackson is continuing to set a model example for how a captain should act in Charlotte.

"It's exciting for a lot of reasons," said Jackson of being a Bobcat despite their slow start on 1070 The Fan. "I'm with a team that is a play or a player away from becoming a consistent playoff team. I'm playing for one of the best players to ever play the game and playing for one of the best coaches ever. So, I'm having fun. It's 11 years for me now, so I'm just enjoying the game.
Stephen Jackson Staying Calm and Collected in Charlotte - 1070 The Fan

Jackson joined 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis to talk about how he would summarize his time in Charlotte, his role as a leader of the Bobcats, what his relationship with Michael Jordan is like, what his personal and team goals are for the rest of the season, when he thought he turned a corner with his personal maturation, and what he thinks the Bobcats need to most improve upon for the remainder of this season.

debbie downer, mr. cynical man here, it almost seems like he is reading the press on why his trade value is so low and playing nice so a contender like the bulls takes him on.

Easy to stay positive when you've got tens of millions coming your way, no matter your performance...

^^ Damn straight, sounds very suspect.

"hey we suck but that's alright, we got a HOF player running tings".

I think Hendo is the next MJ. Clearly already a better player than MJ was at this point in his career. Maybe better than SJack. We'll have to see but, this guy looks like 2nd GOAT (behind Allen Iverson) material to me

We really don't suck. Well some players suck, but we've got a solid 6 + very developable Derrick Brown and Gerald Henderson. I think with more fan support Captain Jack and GW could get motivated again. But he's right, our defense could improve.

Wow, the guy just can't win. When he shows his frustration and "tells it like it is" he gets slammed for having a bad attitude. When he shows a more mature side and takes the PC approach as he does in the quotes above, it's BS and he's got ulterior motives. And that's from his own fanbase. I'm convinced some people are so biased against Jack that there's absolutely nothing he can do that would be acceptable.

I love Jack. And I've only ever been upset with his words once, and that was critizing DJ. I like honesty, and I like him showing frustration. I don't like him lying, but worse than that I don't like him slamming someone who isn't the problem. He's a captain, which makes it his right to be critical, so long as he's fair.

I have a much bigger problem with "The Artist formerly known as Crash" than I do with Jax.

Same here Ziggy. Do you know what has been up with him this year? His shot selection has become grossly predictable. He isn't hustling like he did most of last season, but we all saw that die in the playoffs. He's still a phenomenal player but he looks as if he's disinterested in the game.

hes the best player on our team, and is also showing maturity and people still doubt him. WTF does the guy have to do? And what he said about DJ was the honest truth. DJ is not as tough as Raymond, yes hes a better shooter, but hes not as tough leader or defender.
