Default Game Thread: Charlotte Bobcats at Memphis Grizzlies 12/15

Fresh off a win against the Raptors, the Bobcats take it to Memphis.

Memphis is led by dude-who-does-not-deserve-max-contract Rudy Gay, as well as a strong front court in Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Z-Bo is scary, not only of his size but of his weight. Expect to see more Kwame, Nazzy, Diaw and Diop due to the size match-ups.

Wallace may be out after injuring his ankle in the 1st quarter of the Raptors game. Unfortunately it seems that Dominic 'the scrub' McGuire may start in his place.

Injury report: LB mentioned trying to play Hendo, but that he wasn't ready yet.

Key Matchup: Captain Jack verse Gay. Gay doesn't have the size, nor strength to handle Captain Jack in the post. Look for him to exploit it.

X-factor: Tyrus Thomas. When he's in the building, watch out.

Read up on the Grizzlies..3 game win streak

    http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/news/notes.pdf

Recaps from Last season's two meetings

Charlotte 89, Memphis 87 – Jan. 9 at Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, N.C.
One night after a dramatic, last-second victory over the Utah Jazz, the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Charlotte Bobcats on a last-second play… Down by three points late in the
    fourth quarter,
O.J. Mayo made his fourth three-pointer of the game to tie the score at 87 with 8.8 seconds left, but in the final possession, Raymond Felton’s errant layup was
    tipped home by
Gerald Wallace as time expired to give Charlotte its third consecutive victory over the Grizzlies… Memphis lost for just the third time in the last 11 games…

    O.J. Mayo
scored 25 points (10-of-22 FG) to lead all scorers, while Zach Randolph had 17 points (7-of-17 FG) and 12 rebounds for his 23rd double-double of the season…

    Rudy Gay
notched his sixth double-double with 15 points (6-of-17 FG) and 10 boards… Felton paced the Bobcats with 19 points (7-of-12 FG), and Wallace finished with 18
    points (8-of-15 FG)…
Ronald Murray scored 12 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter… The Grizzlies lost to a team with a losing record for the first time since Nov. 29 vs. LA
    Clippers.

Charlotte 93, Memphis 89 – Feb. 26 at FedExForum, Memphis, Tenn.
The Memphis Grizzlies held a two-point lead late in the fourth quarter but could not hold off a late surge by the Charlotte Bobcats, who extended the Grizzlies’ home losing
    streak to a season-worst six games…
Zach Randolph’s 22-foot jumpshot gave Memphis a two-point advantage (87-85) with 3:37 left in the fourth quarter, but that would be
the Grizzlies’ final basket of the game, as Charlotte closed the game on an 8-2 run to earn the win… Randolph led Memphis with 24 points (10-of-15 FG) and 10 rebounds,
extending his franchise record to 27 games with at least 20 points and 10 boards…
Rudy Gay chipped in with 20 points… Mike Conley scored 11-straight Grizzlies points in
the fourth quarter, finishing with 13 (4-of-8 FG, 3-of-3 3FG)…
Stephen Jackson scored 32 points (13-of-26 FG), including 10 in the fourth quarter, and a season-high 11
rebounds, as the Bobcats made all three of their three-point attempts in the fourth after shooting just 3-of-14 from downtown in the first three quarters… The Grizzlies lost at
home to a sub-.500 team for the first time this season (8-1) and the first time since March 7, 2009 vs. Philadelphia… The Bobcats swept the season series with the Grizzlies for
the second-straight year and have won five of the last six matchups with Memphis after the Grizzlies took the first six in the overall series… Charlotte converted 20 Grizzlies
turnovers into 28 points and won on the road for the first time since the All-Star Break.

I just realized the game is at 8 pm. I thought I was going to miss it due to a prior engagement but most likely I'll be back around halftime.

Please don't let me come in to a (yet another) ass whooping.

    LB quotes post game:

Not an exact quote in this order, but he said all these things.

They don't care, saying it's the ref's fault, not playing together, they aren't listening to me, it's embarassing, I'm begging them to play, that's not my job, guys not running back, guys not sharing the ball, it's just a magnification of the entire season.

Dominic was only guy that tried through halftime

The most telling thing from the LB presser............ was when he walked off
