The Timberwolves plan to make a push to acquire O.J. Mayo, sources told Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Minnesota traded Mayo's rights to Memphis on draft night two years ago in the deal that gave them Kevin Love.

Mayo is frustrated coming off the bench in Memphis and "needs a change," according to one person familiar with the situation.

The Wolves are also pushing to acquire Anthony Randolph, who is stuck on New York's bench.

what the hell are the wolves thinking. randolph plays the same position as love and giving a first for a bench guy is just stupid. the knicks say they want a first. mayo is going to cost them too. so unless they are offering rubio in the deals they are going to have to give up something good. why would you even be looking for a pf? center position is paid for for years with darko. i swear, teams like minnesota need to be contracted to protect the league from dumbass gm's.

Isn't Randolph kind of a tweener 3/4? They could see him as a backup at both spots. I'm guessing anyone looking for Randolph is trying to get good value on perceived damaged goods. Not sure what they'd trade to get him.

nyk want a #1 pick for him. way too much for a project tweener that you don't need. between johnson, beasley, love, brewer you don't need him. unless you are going to move one of them in a later deal.

Maybe they don't think anybody in this year's draft is worth the contract? Is Randolph expiring? I know you can't have too many bigs, but they're also playing with fire having so many young guys at similar positions.
