Silas defends LeBron

I don't really have an opinion about Silas giving this quote.

I think Silas is 100% on the money.

I understand why Cavs fans are hurt though, imagine you had the chance to date this woman for 7 years...


... then she leaves you in an ugly breakup for a guy thats better looking, has a better job and has a nicer car. Of course it would hurt like Hell when it happened, but nobody can take away those fantastic times that you guys had for so many years.

In my opinion, Cleveland was damned lucky to have him for those 7 years.

It didn't have anything to do with luck. They tanked to get Lebron and in the end they got exactly what they deserved.

I have no problem with LeBron's decision, my problem is with "The Decision" and how he went about it. although I think he's copping out to play with another, more accomplished superstar.

I don't want to sound like a Lebron apologist, but the Cavs had 7 years to get him a "Pippen", the best they came up with was a series of mediocre Larry Hughes, Mo Williams and a 72 year old Shaq. If they had found a way to get him a "Pippen", I bet he would still be there.

That is true, Ziggy. But I think Teej is also right in that LeBron's decision to go to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh for less money will also hurt his legacy. He will never be like MJ or Kobe. They would never play 2nd fiddle to anyone and would want that team to be "their" team. When LeBron gave that up, he gave up any chance he has to be on an equal footing with MJ or Kobe.

The funny thing about Kobe is that although he carries himself as the alpha male and on par with Jordan, his teams have always been best when he's had the big man that the offense goes through (Shaq and Gasol). He shot them out of a title when they played the Pistons and damn near did the same thing in Game 7 against the Celtics last year, taking high degree of difficulty shots when he had an offense and big man to help and the team get quality looks by design. His situations were only comparable when he QUIT himself in the initial years after Shaq left.

I agree 100% and the fact that he held a 30 min special on ESPN about it was really lame too, but that falls on him AND ESPN.
