Default Thoughts on our new coaching staff.

The biggest change has to be Oak. I see massive improvements in K Brown with back to back double doubles. He hasn't posted those numbers since 2004. Rumor has it Brown and Oak got into it early on and Oak offered to kick his ass. I have seen steady improvement since. I could see K Brown averaging 10 and 10 for the remainder of the season. I can see Oak turning T Time into a all star if T Time buys in . Doris is getting more physical as well any one noticed . Report card on our new coaching staff. Thoughts on Silas , Oak , and young Silas ?

One last point i've noticed young Silas drawing up plays after time outs instead of Dad ??

steve said as much about kwame and oak during yesterday's game. kwame has been much better. in fact all of our guys are playing tougher.

the biggest change i have seen is in the plays after timeouts whether they be inbounds or sets. the change is they are actually there and they work. even though he missed the shot, the play to get jax that three in regulation was really good. 2 picks and a great boris down screen got the exact look we wanted.

Between Oak and Paul, the play of our bigs has been much better. DJ and Jack have been a bit too inconsistent and I think Stephen needs to work more with Deej, but Hendo has looked better and that's on Stephen. I still don't know who Ralph Lewis is coaching.

I have no idea what role Lewis has any one? I wonder if that elbow T Time let fly was a product of Oak. Oak used his elbows all so but he was much better at it than TT is . I really think that flagrent was in part due to Oak . Wanting TT to be more aggressive on the boards. If TT gets that physical rep people are not going to be jumping all over his back .
In my openion Oaks coaching has showed up most in games .

Who ever coaches offence can't seem to get the players to run in games ? I heard a statement they run like NY in practic ? The only differance i see is DJ getting a few more touches . And Jax shoting more bad shots . THOUGHTS

Jax is sooting .308 in just his last 2 games 12/39, thats a bunch of missed points.. I think he needs a personal shooting coach or a better one....

More like he still needs to learn that when he's cold, don't take those stupid contested fadeaway jumpers. Normal game, or when he's hot he'll normally hit that. When you're cold, please no.

I was fortunate enough to go to all 3 home games last week and I will also add that Oakley was working directly with Nazr before every game. It will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable effect here as well, and if so, will it (or the others for that matter) last for an extended amount of time.

With the exception of the Hornets game, I will say that Silas has been one of the more laid back coaches I have ever watched. But he could be a totally different person in practice. Some people have contributed this new style to the recent success of the Bobcats, but realistically they were just winning games they should (except for the Chicago game they almost gave away).

I guess only time will tell. It's too soon to get a real precise reading on what all is happening but still fun to talk about.

I think Ralph deal intensively with DJ and the other guards. During time-outs I see Ralph talking to DJ one-on-one, showing what he's doing and what he needs to do (it seem that way).

IMO, the person that brings the most impact is Stephan Silas. I think coming from the Warriors, he's the one that brings the up-tempo offense. Also I notice on many occasion he's the one sitting in the "HC's chair" drawing up plays for the final minutes (I recall him doing that in Timberwolves game). Paul is definitely influential with motivating players, but when it comes to coaching the team... I believe Stephan handles most of it.

Agree with the Oak comments. Absolutely love how he's taken Kwame under his wings, or, more likely, got him in a headlock. Can only imagine what he could do with a dude with big potential.

From the way Steve Martin described it at the beginning after an interview with Paul, the coaching duties are as follows: Oak, of course is big men; Stephen is the offensive coordinator; Lewis is defensive coordinator.

Except for not putting DJ in early enough in the 4th vs. NO, and not reigning Jack in, I've been really pleased with the new staff. They're doing the best they can with a flawed team that has no go-to scorer, shooter, or lockdown defender, and, for now at least, effort is not the issue it was before.

If by "just fine" you mean rampant TOs, shots outside the offensive flow, and choking in the clutch among other things, then, yes, he's been "just fine" since last year's playoffs.
