Default Blow it up or continue our current direction?

I decided to start a new thread for this because it seems to be such a huge discussion in almost every thread. Almost every question or trade proposal or whatever turns into blow it up.

I am 100% against "blowing it up".

We are currently constructed well enough to make the playoffs and I do feel like there will be some type of trade before the deadline. In our starting 5, Boris is playing pretty well. Kwame and DJ are playing excellent, especially considering the questions about them in the past. Jack is in a slump and ultimately has got to shoot better, but I think he will. And I think Gerald will find his way back to playing like the Crash we all know and love.

The bench isn't deep but Tyrus's loss is only temporary and Hendo and Livingston are playing well. Nazr is better off the bench. Overall, our rotation only needs to be about 8-9 players deep and we have that.

There has been lots of griping about getting swept by Orlando last year and that some of you would rather "blow it up" and rebuild. Not me. Most teams need to make the playoffs a few times and take baby steps in the process before they can make serious runs. IMO, our next goal should be going back to the playoffs and getting our first win there. That would be a step in itself and would show that we are a team that expects to make the playoffs each year and has done so multiple times. This in itself would go a long way towards the respect around the league we are all looking for.

Look at the seeding. Getting the 6th seed isn't out of the question. That might very well match us up with Chicago in the first round. Anyone think we can't beat them? I actually think we could take a series from them.

Miami and Boston are much tougher match ups but winning a game against either of them isn't out of the question. Orlando swept us last year but we did have a great game plan against Dwight and I think most of our guys would love to have another chance at them.

Well, there it is. Again, I am 100% against blowing it up. Your thoughts?

I like what your saying here. If jax and wallace pulled their finger out we would actually be a top 8 team in this conference! DJ,Diaw and K.Brown are playing above expectations at the moment whereas the other 2 aren't.

Jax average of 18ppg this season isnt that hard to replace if we trade him at the deadline..DJ is averaging 18ppg in janurary and if he makes more then 20 points tonight this will be his first back-to-back-to-back 20+ points in a game. Also with Henderson set to get more playing time im sure his average points will increase.

I know i want to see a trade happen but i doubt we will get something that will excite everyone.

Im agreeing with you, i think we should try get cover for tyrus and make that playoff push and not blow this team just yet!

This graf says it all . Its past time to blow this team up.
1st we have the worst road attendance in the league. Meaning nobody is instrested in watching the Bobcats play.
2nd We rank 22nd in the league in home attendance . That means we have a decent fan bace . For such a bad product . If you compare the two toghter . Basicly we have a team no other citys care to see . So its not our fan base its the product. This attendance graf should help.

This graf proves blowing the team up and starting fresh could only help our over all numbers.

So the Hawks should blow it up and start over to Dav? Their over all average is below ours.

I would like to point out that most of that "discussion" is actually the same few people saying the same thing over and over and over and over. Start looking at names when you read posts and you will see what i mean.

Mike you just helped prove my point . The Hawks home fan base sucks with a decent product. Proving its not our home fan base thets the problem . Its our product .Notice the Hawks draw a 1000 more fans on the road than we do . They bring in a better product . As we just have a stronger fan base at home. With a bad product. This proves if we had Atlantas product we would be way up in attendance.

Notice our away attendance is the WORST in the league. That should be a sure sign our product sucks.

I'm a fan of high lottery picks because that's the only way we're going to win a Championship, by getting a franchise player through the draft because we're not getting one in free agency. YOu can believe otherwise but as long as your belief is followed by the front office we will continue to tread water in the mediocre ocean.

BUT it's too late to tank so we might as well continue on course for the season....who is excited about an 8th (possibly even 7th!) seed and a first round sweep?!?!?!?!
