Default An argument for Lebron James as MVP

This looks at things somewhat in reverse, but I think that there is some logic behind it.

Look at this season's Cleveland Cavaliers. It's basically the same squad as last season. The only difference is now they have no Lebron James.

Last season they won 61 games, this year they are on pace for 12. so basically Lebron James is worth 50 wins by himself... Of course the math doesn't hold up if you add Lebron to a 40 win team for obvious reasons, but you get my point.

Well they also lost Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Shaq. Not a superstar core but it left them with only Varejao (Injured) at center. Not to mention losing Delonte West. Not huge losses but its a loss of alot of dependable reserves and core players. Its not all about LeBron (although he is most of it).

    Disagree...

How Lebron went about doing what he did, the NBA will go out of their way to make sure he doesn't receive individual accolades. Lebron is a great athlete and a great basketball player, but he did a better job last season of involving the players around him and making them better players. I'm not sure that is the case this year, and certainly not to the same level.

I'd vote for Durant (he is to Kobe and Lebron, what MJ was to Larry and Magic). A bit younger, with a very bright future.

lebron is by far the best player in the league and it isn't that close. i agree with you zig but i also agree with block party. no way he wins because the writers will punish him for the decision and basically being an egomaniac to the nth degree. my list as of now is:
    bron
    rose
    paul
    wade
    durant

paul will most likely bounce out but after this most recent win stretch he is back in the conversation. he is playing with a complete trash team outside of west.

The media won't give it to him, but I think in reality he is the "Most Valuable Player" in the NBA. You could place him on any team in the NBA and they are legitimate championship contenders.

If you brought a D-league roster to the NBA then added Lebron, they would probably be a 4 or 5 seed in the East at worst.
