Effort is the issue. This team has enough talent that, if they played every game to the best of their abilities, they could be a #4 seed.
and beat LA, Boston, and Atlanta. I mean, what gives? Is it a problem with team effort? Do they not take lesser teams seriously and wind up getting overwhelmed? Do they only exert a lot of effort when they play good teams? Do they waste their energy on good teams and end up being not able to contend with lesser teams because of fatigue? It's baffling.
On another note, LA looks terrible. Old, slow, completely non athletic, and they're stuck with most of those players.

How does it seem no matter what changes wit this team we always ask the same question every year??

Bobcats > Lakers > NBA > Bobcats
1) Our big 3, (DJ,Jax,Crash) have never been "good" at the same time, Jax was playing "drunk",[Started playing better] then crash had nagging injuries[they've healed], now DJ has a fractured hand
Once their all good 100% healthy at the same time we will be a very hard team to beat
2)Getting adjusted to the coaching change, and we haven't completely shaken off LB's negative impact on the team even though that is slowly eroding away
if yall remember last year, we had the same problem, its obviously an effect from LB's system.
Could you post the link where DJ's hand is 'fractured'? All I've seen is it is 'sore', and if it is 'fracture' and he's shared that with the Bobcats staff, they would be irresponsible in allowing him to continue playing. Missing 2 games leading into the all-star break would not be a big deal when it means getting over a week of rest for an injury that only heals with rest.
most of it is effort but la was coming off a back to back with sunday's game at 4p in orlando and are at the tail end of an east coast trip. plus the mamba was under the weather. boston was the back half of a back to back after beating orlando.
one problem i see us having is that we have to play really hard all season to make the playoffs. we don't have the talent or expierence to pace ourselves through the season and kicking it up a gear around april.
as for the lakers...you are right they don't look very good at all most of this season. the third title during the 3 peat run is by far the most grueling mentally and physically. i would say that the celtics looked pretty piss poor all they way up to game 2 of the first round series last year and then turned it on, so i certainly am not counting out the lake show yet.
Refs and LUCK.
As for the Refs when you go into a game vs the Lakers and you don't get a few calls.. thats to be expected... and our guys just go about playing the game. Putting us in a better position to be competative then when Jack and others get all pissy at the refs and loose focus on PLAYING BASKETBALL.
Luck, well sometimes Naz hits a fade away jumper from the baseline, some times he does not. Last night seamed to have a lot more of those shots bouncing off the rim and IN then bouncing off the rim and OUT.

^^^^Luck certainly has something to do with it...but winning 8 out of the last 10 goes a bit beyond luck...
Last night (IMO) against LAL it seemed all the guys were focused...the Nets and Pacers game (IMO) it looked like Crash and Jack were focused...
The question for me is...why can't the guys (other than Crash and Jack) get focused for the non-Celtics-Lakers...it is kind of baffling on many levels...
A tribute to "Crash"...We'll miss you Dude...
