This popped up today on Hoopsworld...longer article on trade speculation but this is the snip pertaining to the 'Cats...
No Deals Until Melo Situation Resolved by Steve Kyler
"The LA Lakers are actively engaged in trade talks and there has been chatter that the Charlotte Bobcats are interested in an Andrew Bynum deal, but the Lakers are not receptive. The Bobcats could offer up either Gerald Wallace or Stephen Jackson in a deal.
Both players have acknowledged that they could be moved before the deadline, however the Bobcats are telling inquiring teams they are not looking to subtract as much as add. If the Lakers budge on Bynum, the Bobcats are willing and able to offer real value in return."

Kyler had his chat today (article posted today) and here are some question from the chat:not my question by the way...
Sean in Kingston, Jamaica:
Hi Steve, what are the odds of SJax and Zach Randolph being traded?
Steve Kyler:
50/50... Zach wants an extension and I think if Houston misses on Nene, Zach is their fallback guy.
No sure there is a market for Stephen Jackson, he's owed a lot of money next year and the year after and thats a big deterrent with Labor issues on the horizon and possibly a lower salary cap.

We ship out Jax, and Diaw
for
Artest and Bynum
I follow the lakers along with the bobcats and I personally think the Lakers (mainly Kobe) prohibit Artest and Bynum from really making an impact on the game.
Artest was once a 20pt scorer, in the triangle he is forced to be a role player who only shoots every so often. He is not that kinda player, he needs the ball more but with Kobe and Pau getting most of the touches his typical game can not be shown.
Bynum suffers from the same thing, Bynum never has plays ran for him plus he has to play with another 7 footer which limits his time in the paint. Also the way the triangle works they come down the floor and set up on one half of the floor with a post up in the high paint. If they dont set up on Bynum's side then he wont be needed that possession. The triangle offense is limiting in my eyes
Getting rid of Jax, is a no brainer. Henderson is coming into his own and it needs to be determined if Henderson can succeed in a starting role so with jax gone i think he gets more minutes and gets to show if he can be a starter.
Diaw, although has played every game since he was traded here still takes games off which is just absolutely not needed on this Silas team, so i say get rid of him
^^ done. I think Artest brings the same leadership/confidence that Jax does and Bynum would thrive in a different system. Crazy that the dude JUST turned 23 in October and is a true Center rather than an undersized Okafor/Thompson kind of Center. I love Jackson's "it" quality that he has in close games and overall swagger, but Wallace and Artest could substitute nicely. Plus as jazzer says, Hendo can be our starting 2 which is a good thing and we get out from under Jackson's last 2 years. However, I don't think LA would ship out those 2 for Jack and Diaw. If we could pull that off, I'd be quite happy with the return.
What would you do with Wallace then?? You have two starting caliber players for the 3, none for the 4 and Crash already said he wouldn't go back to playing the 4. TT is still hurt and I wouldn't trust Naijera with starters minutes. I like the trade (even if I'm one of the few who like Jack it seems like) but it leaves us with a too many options at one end and none at the other. Unless you suggest moving Crash to the two and using Henderson as a 6 man

Some one explain to me why in the hell we would trade with them? If they got Jackson and Diaw they'd be a lock for the title. I'm sick of teams gifting them rings (Memphis and the Gasol trade).
Love Jax and don't want to see him go so I prefer him to stay. Think about this can u imagine Diaw in a Lakers jersey with his skill set? That would be dangerous. He doesn't have to show up all the time because Kobe, doesn't have to be an undersized center because Paul is there, and all he does is pass. Depending on what they give up they could be lethal.
I would love to take a chance on Bynum. He has the kind of upside we need and i could live with a twin towers team till TT gets back.
