Steve Kyler update:
The Cleveland Cavaliers have a standing offer for Charlotte's Gerald Wallace, would include absorbing him with Traded Player Exception, and then swapping additional lower dollars players for a Charlotte cast offs.
Bobcats not sold today that Cleveland's deal is best out there.
Houston is said to be interested in Wallace too and the Mavericks, who swung and missed on Devin Harris are open to the idea of landing Stephen Jackson.
Mavericks have told inquiring teams Dominique Jones is a not available, but when push comes to shove a few executives believe he can be had for the right veteran shooting guard. Mavericks have been shopping the ending contract of Caron Butler as the meat of their offers with limited interest.
The Bobcats want to dump Boris Diaw more than Jackson or Wallace, and seem to want a real player back for either Jackson or Wallace in a deal.
The short cut might be to take Wallace or Jackson with Diaw, which Charlotte seems open to. Landing one on their own looks to be a tough sell.
