    This from Jason Fleming...

    Jason Fleming - 02/23/2011 2:56pm EST-
I really don't understand all these trade rumors about Portland and Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace.
They keep coming back, yet when talking to people in and around the Trail Blazers – not Blazers' management – few seem to understand where Wallace would fit. Most people agree he's not an upgrade over Nic Batum, who starts at small forward, and Batum is younger and cheaper. So why take on Wallace?
Also, to match Wallace's $9.5 million contract, Portland would have to send out at least $7.125 million and up to $11.875 million in trade. Who would that be? Starting point guard Andre Miller fits, but that leaves Portland with just Patty Mills at the point. Center Marcus Camby also fits, but leaves Portland even thinner in the middle.
The only way a Portland acquisition for Wallace seems to make sense is if it's setting up some other move. What that could be is still murky.

Source: Portland Likely to Stand Pat

    Posted: 2/23/2011 1:11:00 PM
Source: Jason Quick of The Oregonian

The Trail Blazers appear to be shifting toward standing pat at the trading deadline after several flirtations with teams ran into dead ends, perhaps because of a conflict of philosophy between owner Paul Allen and first-year general manager Rich Cho.

A source late Tuesday night was informed the Blazers were leaning toward holding tight at the Thursday deadline, while another source said he was told “nothing was imminent” on the Blazers' trade front.

One agent with a client on the Blazers said it appears the Blazers are engaged in a philosophical struggle in the front office.

This is getting ridiculous. Nothing adds up which is why rumors are called rumors. I am done with this until I see something on NBA.com or ESPN.com that talks about a deal being officially done.

Well, if Portland is too busy in-fighting to pull a deal, I will gladly take that J-Smoove deal if we HAVE to get rid of Crash.

Yeah, I don't think it makes any either. Making a move for the same position, with a team in your same division/conference, for an older version of the player you're trading?

But, Bill Ingram said it, so I trust it. And if they want to dump Gerald then that's the best I've seen or heard of in terms of compensation.
