    Default Number 3

When its all said and done, do you think Gerald Wallace's number will eventually be retired from bobcats use? He has be extremely influential in forming the foundation of this franchise, would you consider him the greatest player in bobcats history so far?

he's the greatest player in our history, but i doubt he gets his jersey retired. if he played out his entire career here no doubt, but he's only 28, hard to retire a player that didnt even play all of his prime here, especially since he never even won a playoff game.

If he comes back after his current contract expires and finishes out his career here, then I could see it happening. After all, he would be the Franchises leader in games and scoring at least. If he doesnt come back, I dont think it would happen.

I could see it and hope it will happen. But he has to come back later on in his career.

I hope he comes back here and ends his career here. We kept him from going to a dump and tried our best to do right by him and he loves it here. Wallace will be 29 this summer, and after the 2012 season, he has an option year at the age of 30, maybe he comes back here. I hope he does in some way, even if it's as a 6th man, and then he can retire his 3 to the rafters for good.

he shouldn't. he is the best bobcat by far but that doesn't say much. put it this way, if a jersey is retired you would refuse to issue to anyone. if d.wade or equiv star all of a sudden decided he had to come to charlotte and wanted to keep his number, we would certainly take it down from the rafters and say "welcome aboard". it shouldn't be retired at all, but he should be recognized as an original bobcat all-star in some way.

if Dwade comes to charlotte when his contract is up when 34 then he should change his number. He wont ever be in charlotte. He will be Heat player for rest of career. Wallace number shot not be retired. He didnt lead us to any great land and wasnt a phenomenal player in the league. Just a solid top 50 player in the league.

i only used dwade as an example because he is #3. i meant a big time superduper top 5 in the nba player who wants to wear #3 years from now after gerald has retired. the point is, the celtics would never take down #33 or the bulls will never take down #23. those are numbers you retire.
