Default Crash tribute video from tonight's game

I'm not looking to start up further debate about his trade, I just though I'd post this so those who weren't in attendance could see it. It didn't capture all of the video, but it does get the moment right. Though it does show Crash being emotional, in person you could really see him fighting back tears. I'm glad the organization did this; I thought it a fitting tribute for all he did.

that is awesome. i was a little disappointed that only half of the crowd got up and gave him a standing ovation. i thought to myself "we have the worst fans".

    Wallace remains man we loved

As Gerald Wallace walks into Time Warner Cable Arena on Friday, a Charlotte Bobcats employee approaches to say hello. But she begins to cry.

"There's a lot of emotion," Wallace says.

Professional sports are a business. We know that. We also know that without emotion, they're nothing more. A city falls for certain teams and certain players, and Charlotte fell for Wallace.

    ~snip~

Wallace highlights flash on the screen above the court before the game, and when they end, he is introduced.

The response is warm and loud and emotional. Wallace is emotional, too.

"I think they miss me as much as I miss them," Wallace will say later.

As fans cheer, he holds a basketball with his left hand and thrusts his right hand high.
Charlotte fans "helped me get where I am today," he says. "They helped me become the player I have. They've always been 100percent behind everything I've done. I owe them a lot of respect."

    ~snip~

But the best of them occurs before the game.

As Wallace runs through the tunnel after warm-ups, he stops to sign autographs. He signs for almost 15 minutes. A small kid inadvertently drops his Wallace jersey onto the ground, and Wallace picks it up and signs it and walks a few feet into the bleachers to hand it to him.

So the uniform is different. But the man is the same.

Hearing his name announced gave me chills man. I hope he wears a Bobcats jersey again, even if it's at the end of his career.

MJ had BETTER bring Gerald back when his 2 year contract runs out! Jordan has ripped the heart out of this team and this city and he OWES it to us to bring Gerald back. That is, if Gerald would even come back after being utterly betrayed by this organization.

Now, I'm not saying MJ is an idiot (but he might be, looking at past dealings) ... he had better COMPENSATE this fanbase with a CP3, Dwight Howard or BOTH. Keep Jack, and the bring back Gerald. There is your NBA title.

Only reason I went to the game and it was well worth it. Didn't tear up, but very emotional stuff. And bfer, don't know where you were sitting but from up in 215 looking down and around, I didn't see many that weren't giving the standing ovation.
