Im still hoping for the best, but right now any wins are just for morale now in my mind.
So, with 6 games left - 3 of them being against the Magic, Heat, and Hawks, and with us being 2 games behind Indiana and needing to be up at least half a game on them to make the playoffs... What option do you choose?
Should we try to win out and hope they lose enough that we'll get at least half a game on them? I doubt this will happen even if we miraculously won out.
Should we sit all the starters down and lose the last 6 purposely?
Or is it too late that it doesn't matter and doesn't make a difference now?
I'd like to say lose out, but I just don't think it matters with only 6 games left, we really screwed ourselves all the way around and I wish if MJ didn't like where we were he would've decided to address it before the season. This is disgusting.
Im still hoping for the best, but right now any wins are just for morale now in my mind.
Get at me on twitter @dcarnys
Play the young guys as much as possible, and see what happens.
If that means we win all 6, as long as it's by using DJ, Temple, Hendo, Dante, DJ2, and Matty (for the fans) then that's great. Just rest Tyrus and Jack until training camp, bench Kwame and Diaw, and don't use Dom unless necessary.
What does the Bobcats draft position even look like next year. I know itll still move some through the last 6 games, but around what pick are the bobcats looking at? Also, what have they traded away or picked up?
I assume you mean this coming draft?
We're currently in the 10 spot with 32 wins, but depending on how things happen to finish the year, we can be anywhere from 8th (Clippers have 31 wins) to 11th (Golden State has 33) to 15th (if we make the playoffs).
We also own the Hornets pick unless it's in the top 7 which won't happen unless a) they drop out of the playoffs and b) they win the draft lottery. Otherwise, we get their pick which can anywhere from 21st (Portland has 45 wins) to 17th (Philly has 40 wins) to 14th (if they make the playoffs.
To summarize, we own:
Our 9-11 pick
Hornets 18-20 pick
Our 39-41 pick
Great synopsis SWedd. Based on this, since we are currently in the 10 spot, we can only go 1 spot either direction (unless we make the playoffs. I still 100% say that if I had the choice between making the playoffs and getting the 15 pick or missing it and getting the 10 pick, I'll take the playoffs every day of the week.
I also know that we have virtually no chance of winning a series in the playoffs but we could get our 1st playoff win.
With this being said, I don't think we make the playoffs if we tried so that tends to be a moot point.
If the only difference is us being from 9th to 11th, then I say play the young guys as much as possible, rest Jack and Tyrus, and try to win as many of the last handful as possible.
Something about tanking on purpose doesn't sit right with me. Regardless of your record. Basketball is a game that's meant to be won...win if you can.
In Cho I Trust!
Let me be very clear: I definitely don't want us to go out there and purposefully lose games. However, considering how busted up we are, I don't think we play Jax and Tyrus just to get in the playoffs. As I mentioned before, roll the dice with the youth and see what happens.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
