the bobcats name sucks point blank period, and the "raptors" names sucks even worse, thats why nobody respects the raptors fanbase or the team.

The reason noone respects the Raptors is because they suck, same with us, same with the Clippers. Until we have a good name we could have a great name we won't get respect. All we should care about is that CHARLOTTE is in whatever name the team has. Thats IT.

Does it really matter what the name is? I mean the Red Sox, Packers, Lakers and Knicks would all sound really stupid if they were thought of for a new franchise, but they are world renown names. I still think the OKC Thunder sound like a dumb name, but they are winning, have 2 great players and are on tv so much it just kind of stuck and doesn't seem weird now. The more they win, the more we are on Sportscenter, the more games we get on ESPN, TNT, and ABC, the more natural the Bobcats name will become.

I'll admit that when it came down to "Dragons", "Flight", and "Bobcats", I wasn't too thrilled about those choices but I was hoping it would be Bobcats. As time has gone by the name grows on me more and more.

There's nothing wrong with the name but if a change trips you trigger, call them whatever you like. If the team were winning, we wouldn't be talking about this. I don't care what we call the product; I just want to see a better product.

I think the team really needs to change its name. I know it costs some money, but it really needs something of a "relaunch" to get rid of the bad taste of everything that's come before.

I'm sure some people will think this is excessive, but I think the name has kept me from being a bigger fan of the team. It's basically the worst name in all of sports.

It has nothing to do with the animal, it's that Bob Johnson named it after himself. I can't pull very enthusiatically for a team that's basically called the Egotistical Rich Guys.
It's crazy to me that Jordan hasn't changed the name, I really beleive that stupid name helped sour a lot of people on the franchise (remember "Flight" was the fans choice in a poll) before it even played a game in Charlotte.

I think Jordan understands the situation pretty well, actually. The vast majority of potential customers don't even know who Bob Johnson is. Rebranding would be a significant undertaking with no tangible benefit unless we actually win.
