    Default The coaching situation

Silas has done a decent job, but if we have a chance I say go get Dantoni. I have wanted him for years.

We already play pretty good D we just need an offensive coach. If any system could get the most out of DJ and Boris it is his. The Knicks were doing well this year until they gutted the roster to add Melo. Plus if he gets fired we can probably get him on the cheap and sign him to a long contract.

I'm not sure he has anything to gain by coming here. Any couch would know they have a tough road ahead. I think the logical choice would be Silas for one more year, grooming his son to inherit the job. He got very high praise in GS and seems to be young and hungry. I think if pop Silas could establish good work ethic with everyone and Jr. could establish strong relationships, we'd be in a good position the following year.

I dont know about Dantoni. If he cant win with Billups, Melo, and Amare, I cant imagine he could do much more with us. I was never really a fan of his and would rather keep Silas for now.

I agree, Dantoni's style is entertaining, but we'd have to pretty much gut the roster again, because we don't have the parts for his style honestly. I'd like to see Stephen take over after next year for his dad. His specialty is developing guards, and I'd like to see what he could do with DJ and Gerald.

Hell no on Mike 'Antoni, hes basically the offensive version of larry brown. I don't want any coach that doesn't play players for an illogical reason.

great post. d'antoni is a very one dimensional and over rated coach. we can always hope the magic are stupid enough to fire SVG and hire him as soon as he gets that pink slip.

Silas is under contract for next season, guys. then the plan in the front office, if all goes well, is to promote Stephen.

Silas is the man! I don't think Phil Jackson could have made the playoffs with our post-Crash trade skeleton crew. We just flat out don't have the players to be competitive in the NBA. MJ, it's up to you to fix that.
