Why are you assuming he signs some deal like that? While it's possible, I wouldn't endorse the Cats offering more than 10 a year anyway.

i just figure most centers (especially promising centers, even though i think gasol is somewhat overrated) are overpaid and i would feel comfortable with him at 7-8 mil per year but really uncomfortable with him at 10mil per year or more. i think he is a bigger more aggressive version of mek, a tough defensive minded center. he is comparable to perkins who just signed for 10 per year.

I would offer Gasol a pretty hefty contract this summer for a couple reasons:

    1. There are very few real Center's in the NBA, he is one of them
    2. We most likely are NOT going to get Dwight along with CP3

That's very true and a great point. It goes back to the whole supply and demand thing though. After Dwight and Bogut, you have who? Bynum has injury issues, Lopez is a softie, Horford/Pau are PFs, 10 mil might be worth it for a guy who's top 5 in his position.

I don't think we have that much money to offer anyway so it doesn't matter lol.

i like him alot and we could maybe get him at 4 or 5 mil per. the only thing i am concerned about is he is more of pf than a center and with TT, boris, dj we are pretty full at pf (even though the only one i am interested in keeping is dj because of his contract).

Hibbert and Noah, but I get your point.

It all depends on the new CBA and how much cap this team has.
