Default 2012 The year of the Bobcat...well sorta.

Ill keep it short and to the point. We aint goin nowhere this year. Dont get me wrong I love my bobcats but I think things are going to have to get worse before they get better. My main goal for Charlotte would be to trade for picks in the 2012 Draft.

Here are my suggestions divided into categories.

    Trade options
I believe should take the same approach as Cleveland did with the Baron Davis trade and take on 'Bad' expiring contracts as long as we can receive 2012 or future draft pick at the same time.
Some options we have are taking Antawn Jamison from Cleveland or Steve Nash or Vince Carter from Phoenix. I believe both will still be in the lottery next year and if we can pinch a good draft pick it would help alot. The main problem with this scenario is actually having any pieces these teams would be interested in.
Players on my wish list for the Bobcats to one day acquire are James Harden, Tyler Hansborough and Chris Paul. All very unlikely but its nice to dream.

    Free Agency

Quick list of players id like the 'Cats to consider.

Jamal Crawford - 6th man in Atlanta, He'd be THE man in Charlotte
Josh McRoberts - Poor mans Tyler Hansborough
    Jeff Green - Potential, Potential
JJ Barea - Makes DJ expendable for trade options
JR Smith - Who better to teach a player who thinks hes MJ then MJ himself.
    Reggie Williams - Proven Scorer.
Patrick Mills - The Aussie in me would like to see this

    2011 Draft

    Option A
The best way to draft in my opinion is to draft the best possible player available regardless of position. Especially since we have no real superstars at any position.
Alec Burks would be best choice. He is a gifted player with a great natural ability. I believe he can come in contribute right away. We have Hendo and DJ and both are solid players but neither are superstars we can build around. Jan Vesely or Kawhi Leonard would also be good choices if available.

    Option B
The next option is to draft for team needs. Our biggest team needs are reliable bigs especially Centers and more scoring options. Jonas Valanciunas or Donatas Motiejunas can help out in both aspects.

    Option C

Draft the Morris Twins. Between the both of them they can help out at the 5,4 and 3 positions. They would also bring a nice story to Charlotte and if successful bring more media attention to lil Ol Charlotte.

Let me know your thoughts people.

as for bad contracts: we don't have enough space and if MJ's first goal is a shot at cp3 and howard it won't happen until it is absolutely clear they aren't coming here. as in they are sitting in a press conference wearing their new jerseys. once they are gone, i would call up orlando if they didn't trade howard but lost him in free agency and take on arenas for an unprotected first. the problem with this scenario, is that there are quite a few teams that could employ the same strategy.

as for free agent signings: no to all of those mentioned. the good ones are going to want way to much money and the one's who aren't good, i don't want unless they are at the minimum, which they won't be.

as for the 2011 draft: if we don't trade out, i say option A is the way to go. option b is ok and option c would make me vomit and crap my pants at the same time.

Chef is all over this. I agree 100%, especially the part about option c of the draft (Morris Twins).

I do think Burks, Jonas Val and Vesely would all be very good options at the #9 pick that would definitely help us long term.

Even with everything i just read I see nothing that says playoffs or winning season
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it
