We finally have some prospects scheduled and I thought having a thread to discuss them would be a good idea...
Bonnell has an article confirming the guys we thought were coming in today but ads-
"Among those possible lottery picks expected in this week: Colorado guard Alec Burks, Connecticut guard Kemba Walker and the Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff, both 6-9 forwards from Kansas."
This is the link to his article...

addition: I hope you read the linked article since Coach Silas seems to indicate his preferences are athletic and 3-pt shooting....let the speculation (as if it hadn't already) begin...LOL

IMO that's interesting. Has Kemba been as low as 9th in ANY mock so far? Rumor has it Jordan likes the guy...so maybe it's been hinted to his camp that we might be willing to move up a spot or two?
What this kid has that I doubt DJ will ever develop is swagger (I've pretty much come to the conclusion that you either have it or you don't). When we lost Crash we lost the only guy on our roster that flat out refuses to lose on a mostly consistent basis. Jax can do it in spurts...but his skill set (and that freaking jab step) isn't really conducive in being "the guy" night in night out.
Pointing out (again) that I didn't watch hardly any college ball...after seeing a couple of UCONN games my opinion is that we need guys just like Walker.

I agree about Walker, but I get this bad feeling he will be Jason Terry 2.0. Scouts say he is NBA ready though, just needs to extend his range to the 3 point line. Can't question his swagger either, in my opinion it is what separated him from Fredette in terms of the best player in college basketall. Yeah Fredette was a scoring machine, but people forget that Connecticut was not supposed to be a contender this year, and they went on to win the whole thing.

Spectre...SI and D. Aldridge both have Walker below #9...but SI is notoriously inaccurate and Aldridge has not updated since 5/18....
I'm not sure I have a great deal of confidence in Walker at the NBA level...ran too much isolation (for my taste) at UCONN....and if I remember correctly I don't think SWedd thinks much of him but I can't remember why...

Thanks BRNC.
As I said I have virtually no basis to argue for anyone. My thing right now is to try and get the best possble potential guy out there...and make sure that guy has "it". I think Walker does.
In regards to running isolation...hell we NEED that. We need someone other than "Jab Step Jax" who can make something out of nothing. I don't have to see Walker extensively to know he doesn't (nor likely ever) have the PG skills of Paul, but what I think he does have we desperately need.
Just think of the opportunity he would create for Hendo and the role players who have to be fed scoring opportunities.

What is interesting is that with Rubio signing with Minny, there is no chance they take Irving w/ #2 if Cavs go Williams at #1. So it is possible that Irving slips to Cavs at #4, Knight to Sac at #7, leaving Kemba to either Detroit or Charlotte at #8 and #9. I really think that Kemba may fall to #9. And if he does, with his explosiveness and swagger, it is entirely possible that the FO takes him at #9. And since they also want 3 pt shooters and a big, I can see DJ and maybe #39 packaged for a pick in the early 20's. I can see the FO salivating at the thought of getting Kemba at #9, Marshon Brooks at #19 and Vucevic in the #22-#24 range.
Kemba will be a slightly bigger, faster version of DJ with more swagger, Brooks gives us a solid scoring threat, and Vucevic a young big man in the middle. I would think that would be a very good draft night for Charlotte.

Pretty sure Detroit needs a PG too. Hasn't the Stuckey at the 1 ship sailed?
I'm not his biggest fan, but that seems like an awfully low return in what's supposed to be a weak draft. I don't think he's really starter material for us as it stands, but with a team like SAC & Evans I think he'd work pretty well.I can see DJ and maybe #39 packaged for a pick in the early 20's.

spectre...my understanding is the Pistons very open to a PG...thing is we might package DJ and #39 but what #first coming back is hard to say...Kings might still have a great deal of interest in DJ but I don't know that for sure...I do understand they'd like to get some vet like players since they have so much youth but I doubt DJ fits that (vet player)....
