No thanks on Kemba, spectre. He's benefiting from the Cam Newton hype machine.
Hope Resurrected: "I think I can bring an attitude to a team as far as, ‘All right, no matter what, we are not losing this game'." - Kemba Walker
"Its okay to be bad; just so long as you're bad ass." - Keetch
Firstly, I don't see the need to draft Kemba unless we package DJ to get a star player or at least a player with superstar potential.
Secondly, Who says DJ is the one that needs to have that swagger, why couldn't MJ bring someone else at another position with that.
Thirdly, why would the Kings trade for DJ when they can draft either Knight or Kemba at 6?
Fourthly, would Kemba be THAT much of a difference/upgrade from DJ running the point? Yeah ok, he has swagger, but nice guys can be successful to you know a la Ray Allen.
DJ put up respectable numbers after being shitted on by LB, 14, 6, 3. He undoubtedly improved under Silas, after the old man left. I'd prefer MJ addressing our need at C, before we take another PG/SG combo guy.
Don't get me wrong i love Kemba, but it would only make sense if we draft him,by trading DJ for an upgrade at C and i don't mean Samuel Dalembert, Yao Ming.

I think Hendo is the next MJ. Clearly already a better player than MJ was at this point in his career. Maybe better than SJack. We'll have to see but, this guy looks like 2nd GOAT (behind Allen Iverson) material to me
Kudos for sticking with our tradition for being raped. Come on... DJ and #39 for #20ish...dude you're killing me.I can see DJ and maybe #39 packaged for a pick in the early 20's

GW only gets us 2 1st round picks at the trade deadline, not over the summer. Portland's wanted GW for years and finally offered enough when they felt their position in the playoff hunt slipping. Their owner sticks his fingers into the mix just enough (firing his GM each summer) to get his way, and was willing to pull out his check book to make it happen.
I think PF and PG are the least of the areas we need to address in the Draft. But I think drafting for position over drafting the BPA at your pick is a bad way to go. My argument for Kemba at #9 is that IF he is there at #9, he will surely be the BPA at #9. I would take him, and then see about what DJ can bring for me in a trade. Dont think DJ can take being sent back to the bench as a 2nd stringer. I think Kemba will prove to be a much better PG than DJ, but I can live with DJ if we get other quality players in the draft.
If Kemba is there at #9 we should take him. He's a scorer, the Bobcats need that, badly. I have no problem bringing him off the bench either (he will be a rookie after all), but he can always close out the games.
Who said something about the coach liking his starters, but trusting his closers?
We had some interesting times with our smaller lineups, i.e. Livingston, DJ, Jax, Wallace, Diaw... so I kind of wonder about DJ/Livingston, Kemba, GH, TT, Diaw, might be a high scoring combo especially with two scoring pgs playing off each other, and a VERY fast lineup to boot
What to do, what to do...
