Kemba and DJ aren't the same type of player. DJ is somewhere inbetween Derek Fisher and Jameer Nelson, whereas Kemba is somewhere between Shannon Brown and Jet Terry.

Who said something about the coach liking his starters, but trusting his closers?
If Kemba is there at #9 I think it could be a strong indication (since a good number of teams drafting in front of us actually need a PG) that they're not enthused about a 6'1" shooting guard...I'd rather have Burks if we're drafting a shooting guard...LOL

I'm trying to find confirmation that these guys are working out for us today or tomorrow...this is a Derek Page Hoopsworld twitter..."Kemba Walker, Delvon Johnson, Shelvin Mack, Trey Thompkins, Tristan Thompson and Nikola Vucevic tomorrow."

From that can I take it that you would prefer DJ over Walker?

Jameer Nelson has swagger. He has the confidence and I imagine he's not easily intimidated...neither of which DJ has readily. At this stage I'd be shocked beyond belief if DJ ever got his game to where Nelson's is. Not that he doesn't have the talent; it's his personality holding him back.

Thirdly, why would the Kings trade for DJ when they can draft either Knight or Kemba at 6?

Fourthly, would Kemba be THAT much of a difference/upgrade from DJ running the point? Yeah ok, he has swagger, but nice guys can be successful to you know a la Ray Allen.

DJ put up respectable numbers after being shitted on by LB, 14, 6, 3. He undoubtedly improved under Silas, after the old man left. I'd prefer MJ addressing our need at C, before we take another PG/SG combo guy.

Don't get me wrong i love Kemba, but it would only make sense if we draft him,by trading DJ for an upgrade at C and i don't mean Samuel Dalembert, Yao Ming.
Swagger...because he's a scoring PG and not a pure point. If we're going to look at him as a primary option AND pair him with guys like Hendo we need him to create things on a consistent basis, and against some of the best in the league. We also need him to be the unquestioned leader on the court (we should see by now letting Jax/Crash attempt that wasn't working).

I think Ray Allen had swagger. Lord knows he's burnt teams enough to have it...us included.

DJ's numbers...I agree that they were respectable, and if we're talking the backup PG I'm absolutely fine with what he brings. IMO we need a leader who will refuse to lose and will do anything to keep it from happening. I don't think his personality will allow him to get to that point.

Ughhh, we had that guy and we let him go. But you're exactly right.

    Here's your confirmation, son.

Being part of the east coast bias, I never even heard of this Vucevic fella, but I like his 'tude and his 100 dunks....wow. He might suck (let me know if he does) but I want this guy. He says he likes working on the block....that's enough to win me over right there.

Welcome back Beagle. Hope the spring has treated you well.

My hope is we get 3 energetic picks with this draft and all 3 of those players earn their way into the rotation. Playoffs would be great, but I really need some personalities to appreciate (losing Gerald has left a hole).

As long as Vucevic does not end up being Primo v.2, I'd love him at #19
