Default NBADraft.net Updated Mock Draft 6-14-11

Just updated today and it's quite interesting....

    Our selections

    9- Marcus Morris
    19- Klay Thompson
39- Norris Cole...Silas liked this guy when he worked out

    Noticeable selections for other teams:

    7- Jimmer...really?
12- Kawhi Leonard....NO WAY we should pass on him. Im gonna be pissed if we do.
13- Kemba Walker drops to PHX. I would be surprised if he falls all the way past us tbh.
15- Alec Burks drops to Indy. Hmm...
20- Bitchsmack goes here to Minny. I would take him at 19 for sure if we take a guard at 9
    27- Everyone's favorite 7 footer(Vucevic)
    30- Parsons enters round 1

38- Selby takes a big drop into rd. 2
51- Jimmy Butler goes to POR

    Thoughts?

Unfortunately, Klay does not make it to #19. And I'd prefer him, Kemba, Leonard and Burks all over Marcus Morris. If Kemba was there, I think we'd take him if for no other reason than to trade him to someone a few picks behind us who would pay nicely to get him. But with Diaw and TT here, I cant see Twin #1. Now if one of them is gone, it makes a bit of a difference. But if we take him at #9, just how much PT is he going to get with our investment in TT and with Diaw still on the floor?

Agreed. I just realized they have Kawhi at #12 and Darius Morris at #14.

Im a huge Kawhi guy and Im all for him. I think he's a different player than Crash but he has the same work ethic(If not better) and similar stats. He will only get better at offense in general as time goes on. His jumper has really improved as well.

I am surprised by this mock but normally NBAdraft.net is actually the most reliable. I'm on there every year and especially as it gets close to the draft like it is now, they are really accurate.

We can do better than Marcus Morris at #9.

    Without a doubt.

I'm not trying to defend taking Marcus at all but I have a feeling Diaw will be gone by the trade deadline. (If not sooner)

No way the front office would pass up on Kawhi for Marcus Morris, right? Right?

Would think not. But they may be very nervous about picking someone with a lot of potential to be great or bust. They may be inclined to take someone who they know will be good, but with a lower ceiling. There is a good bit of pressure on them to make this pick pay off.

Yeah, and they can make it pay off by picking the best player available, which IMO, is Leonard. But, I don't see why no one is mentioning Jordan Hamilton. I would be very happy to pick him. Really, Leonard, Burks, Hamilton would be my guys at #9.
