Default I Love the NBA Draft

the constant changing of value for the players. One week they are late second round then they shoot up the board.

Judging players, deciding who to love or hate without ever actually watching them play

Scouring the internet for stories on players

Working out who other teams will take, who will be available at our picks

Thinking of potential trades that team may make to get who they want.

checking draft express daily, reading measurements seeing who has hops and who...doesnt

Checking out prospect videos and making a totally unvalidated jundgement on why you hate them, or not.

Its all part of the fun! Anyone else feel the same?

Kema Walker The Core, The Future...
    Bizmack Biyombo
    Jeffrey Taylor

I feel the same, but I think sometimes we overvalue draft picks. Especially in this draft where most of these guys are gonna be role players and not starters.

I do have a question for most of you, why is everyone looking for a SG at nine? No one really has the value there and i think SF and big men are much more of a priority. We have a good SG to come off the bench in Carroll, uh I just think Brooks, or Burks or even Klay would be third on the depth chart in all honesty. If we are starting Henderson, I believe this coaching staff would bring in Carroll over any of the rookie SGs. Im not a huge fan of the SGs being discussed.

Personally i think Burks or Thompson would be ahead of Matt Caroll. Matty C should not be any teams number 2 guard in the nba. I like the guy and think hes a great pro but...

If Matt has his jumper back, which in the last month of the season it looked like he did, then he's a legit #2 SG for any team. People tend to forget he's the best shooter this team has ever had, and that he once scored over 13ppg, while maintaining a high percentage.

The conventional wisdom is Silas wants to improve the Center position and our 3 point shooting in this draft. This draft is very thin in Centers, but has a mix of combo SG/SF that may combine Hendo's slashing game and defensive athleticism and Carroll's 3 point shooting ability in one person. That would allow Stephen Jackson to start at the SF (which he is much better suited to guard on defense).

However, if a athletic talent like Kawhi Leonard is on the board at #9, I would guess the standard rule of BPA would be taken and Jack would stay as the starting SG (if Kawhi should he's capable of starting early in his rookie season).

My hunch still tells me we are going to increase our # of Picks in the 2012 draft on or before the 2011 draft next week. Which could be done by sending expiring contracts and/or 2011 draft picks to the trade partner.

I will like it a lot more when / if I see that we are finally serious about drafting!

Here is the list of the 15 players invited to the "green room":

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2...ory?id=6675909

Kyrie Irving (Duke); Derrick Williams (Arizona); Enes Kanter (Turkey); Brandon Knight (Kentucky); Kemba Walker (UConn); Jonas Valanciunas (Lithuania); Jan Vesely (Czech Republic); Kawhi Leonard (San Diego St.); Chris Singleton (Florida St.); Klay Thompson (Washington St.); Tristan Thompson (Texas); Jimmer Fredette (BYU); Marcus Morris (Kansas); and Alec Burks (Colorado).

A 15th name has been added -- Markieff Morris of Kansas. Markieff is Marcus Morris' twin and also widely considered to be a top 20 draft pick.

The only conspicuous name left off the list is Bismack Biyombo from Congo. Several others, including USC's Nikola Vucevic; Providence's Marshon Brooks; and Texas' Jordan Hamilton have an outside shot of cracking the lottery as well.

In the past, the NBA has expanded the list as the draft date draws closer.
