    I think so too.

Not saying they won't see time on the court together...but I have a hard time seeing it have a net positive in all but a very few situations.

I worry more about DJ going into a shell and killing what value he has.

There's a couple I'd do in that thread.

Him on Wade and Barea/Terry on which ever bum is playing PG. That's easy. The also have Marion who doesn't have to help off LeBron, Tyson who doesn't have to help off Bosh, and Dirk who doesn't have to help off whichever bum is playing C.

We don't have a defensive enough wing to cover for the deficiencies produced by a DJ/KW backcourt. And no, you don't play Hendo as a SF in that lineup.
To be fair Hendo is a better defender then Kidd, and I remember him shutting down durant when he was guarding him last year.(Durant didn't go off until McGuire and Jax was guarding him)

We could threaten to bring Larry Brown back as his shrink if he starts slipping into his shell, that should wake his ass up.

Assuming Biyombo develops correctly, there are a couple of young-ish scoring bigs who could work well with him in my mind:

Al Jefferson, Brooke Lopez, Chris Bosh, Al Horford, David Lee, Kevin Love, Andrea Bargnani, maybe a few more. It would be pretty difficult to acquire most of these guys, but I would consider some of them, probably not now, but 2 or 3 years down the road, either through trades or free agent signings. Obviously we need a SF, but I think we will look to draft one next year.

unless something too good to be true comes across our desks we should only entertain trades that shed long term salary specifically diop and carroll. right now i would consider moving dj to get rid of diop for a tpe and lesser young player. i would also entertain moving mags for two lesser contracts or tpe if we could get it as long as we don't have to move an asset.

I'm trying to think of teams that might be interested in DJ. Unfortunately, many of them are good teams that don't have a lot of assets (LA, NY, Miami). I fully expect the Jimmer experiement to fail in Sacremento so I think they could be a team we trade with down the line, as DJ could just hit open 3's while playing alongside Evans & Cousins. He protects the ball well, which is needed on their team.

That's definitely true, but with their lineup, you have Dirk who can score from anywhere and all of the guards can drain the three so you can't help off. They present as many matchups on the offensive end as there may be on the defensive side.

I'm not saying DJ/Kemba can't play together. Just don't expect them to run it for more than 5 minutes every few games or so in the perfect matchup

i am not too confident that hendo's hip will fully come back. hip injuries do not fair well on athletes. often time they can't regain athleticism to the same high level.

I dunno. We're only talking a couple of years; when we're (supposedly) ready to start competing they all will either be expiring or off the books entirely. I'm thinking we should stick with an OKC type of model where we just keep accumulating young talent...maybe even eat a year or two of salary paired with a guy. We'll have some capspace next year (won't we?) assuming a non radical CBA, so let's use that.

I'd love to be taking young players off other teams' hands just because they can't afford the contract.
