I had thought of this issue a week or so ago and was gonna post it here for discussion, but I've been busy with school and apparently someone beat me to it, lol, but a good take on the issue by Bonnell:
http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_th...ffect-cp3.htmlA reader posed a good question this morning, and I thought addressing it here might start a decent locked-out discussion:
Does the presence of D.J. Augustin and Kemba Walker make it less likely the Charlotte Bobcats would pursue Chris Paul, if he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2012?
I don't think one has anything to do with the other. If you have the cap room to go after a star like Paul at basketball's most important position, you go for it. In the current Bobcats' atmosphere, where the buzz words are "strategic planning'' and "collecting assets,'' Paul has to be on their radar.

If we get Paul, one of these guys (I'd guess DJ) would be gone, but either way, Kemba Walker or DJ Augustin is a hell of a back up PG. And if we don't get Paul, we still have two good PGs. So win win. (Sort of)

I think people are going to be really surprised at how well Kemba does in the NBA. I think he's going to get to the point that we couldn't make him a backup. But, we still have to make an offer to CP3...
I think Kemba would be Paul's backup, but he has the game to play alongside Paul. We could put a set of jets on the court.
SOMEONE will pay for THIS!
That's the kind of thing we used to do.
Since Cho is all about assets hopefully we'll at the least cash in on value.
