Not really. I know there are free leagues and all of that. But if I'm betting money, it's going to be something I have control over. What happens if you have all this money in a league and your best players all miss the year with injury? There goes that money!

That's part of the risk, believe me I've been on the wrong end of the injury bug before.

For me, the draft and the trash talk is a big part of it. It's another chance to get together with friends that you haven't seen in a while... And berate them for taking an injured Peyton Manning in the 2nd round

Yeah but..... $52 for Adrian Peterson? $49 for Ray Rice?

Maybe it's just because I'm in college, but I can't seem to justify those prices for a player lol

Are you talking about an auction draft? Auction money is usually pretend with a $200 limit. While there are some big money leagues, most money leagues that I know of you pay between $20 and $50 for the season, maybe adding to the pot when you make trades or do the waiver wire. When you think about that over the course of the season, it's not really a big deal.

If you're a good person and win the league, you buy everybody wings and beers, and it's basically a way for everyone to get together and enjoy life.
    SOMEONE will pay for THIS!

Now that makes a lot more sense.
