    • It’s less than three full days until the Thursday 3 p.m. trade deadline and here’s what I’m hearing concerning the Bobcats:

The New Jersey Nets would like Boris Diaw’s expiring $9 million contract number, and they’d give up the future first-round pick the Houston Rockets owe them to accomplish that. The Bobcats would have to take players with financial obligations beyond this season.

I hear Jordan Farmar and Johan Petro would come to Charlotte. Would the Bobcats do that and lower their salary-cap flexibility? Hard to say.

I don't mind farmar on that contract, he is a serviceable backup for Kemba. Not a massive Ptro fan... I wonder if theres anyway we could get Morrow and Farmar... salaries would work. Maybe if we sent second somewhere or something...

Or we could replcae Petro with Shawne Williams. He is an expiring

Bringing in Farmar gives us a back up to Kemba and gives us total freedom to move DJA. And the Houston pick for getting rid of Diaw is enticing.

Here is one for you to consider. Hornets are said to be willing to part with a 1st (most likely the unprotected Timberwolves pick) to part with Okafor. Could you get behind trading Diaw and Diop to NO for Okafor and the Timberwolves 1st? Pick will likely be late Lottery - in the 12-14 range. Diaw expires, and Okafor would cost us about an extra $6 mil in 2013 over Diop and then another year at $12 mil.. Is that money worth it to you to get another Lottery pick this Draft? Not sure if I could get behind that one or not. Much better pick than the Nets deal, but we would be taking on more salary. But there is no doubt Okafor can serve as a better backup Center for us than Diop. Biyombo, Mullens and Okafor give us 3 very serviceable Centers

it doesn't matter if it is worth it to us. it is whether it is worth it to MJ. also, minn pick is very likely to be outside of the lotto. they are going to go for the 8th spot, losing rubio doesn't make it easier but at the very worst it will likely be the 12-15 range. no way is that worth 16 million. their pick not minn would get it done though.

That Minn pick could vary anywhere between a late lottery pick to a early 20's pick.

If I knew it would be a lottery pick, I would do this deal.

I have always liked Okafor and saying his name and Diop's in the same sentence is complete blasphamy. His main issue is his contract is just too big for his production.

Even with that being said, I would still pull the trigger on this deal.

I saw this earlier, I wanted to post something on it but feared getting cursed out because of his contract. But I think I would have not mind him coming back for the right deal. Maybe when his contract is up, re-sign him for what he should have gotten (since we grossly overpaid him)
