if he wants to come here than he will accommodate something like that i imagine. depends on the tax implications probably (his personal tax not the team/payroll). but sure i could see a 6/2/minimum type of thing. plus we could offer him the opp. to go to a contender if they ever come calling.
I like him but just not sure if he's what we need given where we are and where he is in his career. He'd be a great fit for a contender. We need to play TT to know what we've got there and DJW is more than adequate as a back up PF. I'll pass.
Say No to washed up vets.
SWAG=Something We (South)Asians Got
The sooner you all realize this is a rebuilding project the better it'll be. We will be shipping off Diaw and DJ for expiring deals and draft picks. They need to gather assets and let the young guys get the playing time. Guys like Kemba Walker and BJ Mullens will get playtime in the 2nd half as we'll have spots for them to fill. The only chance we have at creating a winner is doing this rebuilding plan. Besides, Jamison will want to be apart of a championship contender like Miami, Boston, etc...not Charlotte! I know you all are bored and have nothing else to talk about, but the answer will always be the same for any vet player that has more than a year left on his deal.
Merged all three (really, three?!) threads.
What is Cleveland's incentive for taking that deal? They take on more money this season and more of a cap hit long term. Tyrus sure as hell isn't an incentive for making the deal; they drafted Tristan Thompson who pretty much is a clone.
No, we don't trade for him. Use Diaw to get an asset more valuable asset. Wait til the offseason to grab him for the right price. I think it would take a sit down and explain to him what we are doing and what he wants. He should not expect a lot of PT as we are developing the young core and he would be needed to mentor (say Smack, DJW and TT) If we do draft a SF he can fill in as a role player at both PF and SF. We would compete to win but he should know that we are not no way close to contending. I trust Cho will work a decent contract out. As far as washed up, he played decent last night against us.
