Its a win win for us this year. If the Bobcats win they win and that is awesome, and if they lose they get closer to a top 3 draft pick and that is awesome.

If you ever want this team to become a championship contender you absolutely should be on board with tanking. There is finally a master plan in place, and although the front office would never admit it, tanking is an integral part of it. A top 3 pick, a solid young core, and 20 mil in cap space looks very promising. All I want to see this season is for the young players to grow and get better individually. Every win is one less ping pong ball...I say, tank all the way to the bank!

This is just a weird season all around. When the ball goes up, I can't help but cheer the team on, get pissed when they screw up (which is often) and get hyped when they do something great. Buuuuuuut, if/when they lose, I don't get pissed anymore, because that does help us longer term. I completely understand the logic of tanking, but I just can't ever root for my team to lose, ever.

For those who are conflicted, just do like I did with the Panthers - Last game of the season, I wanted to kill the Saints during the game, wanted to knock the mighty Brees down, and show the NFL that we we're arriving and to watch out for us. But when we got whipped, I was like cool, we just went up about 5-6 spots in the draft with the loss. So cheer your head off for the cats (or at least the young ones if you're more conflicted), but if they lose, then just appreciate it for the long term progress of the franchise.

Two other points, 1) I don't see how cheering for the team hurts them in any way. Its not like any of us have an effect on the game whatsoever based on if we cheer or jeer a good play. And 2), with the shortened season, wacky scheduling, and every team in various stages of getting in shape/building chemistry, I don't anticipate much separation in records from top to bottom. So with many more teams being in contention until the very end, most teams except the bottom 5 will be playing harder than normal to get into the playoffs. I think because of our youth and defensive deficiencies (or straight ineptitude), we will be in that bottom five, and though we may have the will to play hard, most teams will match the intensity, and we'll come up short more times than not. So don't ever feel bad about cheering for the team. Plus, you should always support the team fully, good or bad, as you never know how draft picks will pan out, and to continue to build a fan culture where Charlotte becomes good alternate destination for players.

Operation tank is in fu flow. I think this ranking season is falling into place pretty dam well right now! We have a shorter season so we won't have to watch this terrible team too much. Plus due to the lockout and other reasons this years draft looks to be pretty stacked! This really is the perfect season to suck

It's actually the best of all worlds. We are bad so we're going to lose plenty, but not so bad that we're unwatchable. We're competitive in most games and even in a game like last night where we lost by 20 we had the lead at half and we got to watch nearly 3 quarters of decent basketball. It sure is nice for games like Miami and Atl to not hurt as much as they normally would.

As a season ticket holder and in good conscience, I cannot go along with just tanking. Like some people have said, I have an eye on the big picture and cheer like hell for us to win, but if lose I understand that it helps us in the long run but it hurts so bad in the short term. If this team somehow is in contention for the 8th seed towards the end of the season, then I'd want them to go for it, wouldn't that mean the rebuild is ahead of the game and some of our players are better than we thought?

I don't think there are many people out there who WANT to lose. I would personally be ecstatic if we won enough games to go to the playoffs, but I'm not going to get all pissy every time we lose and start throwing people under the bus, because we're supposed to lose. We are that bad.

I'm glad ohara has finally come back to the realist side. Lowered Expectations.

As a STH, I stand and yell and clap and all that shit during the game (much to the annoyance of the rich pricks to my right), but if we lose, it doesn't annoy me. I just enjoy being there to watch us get better. The game against Atlanta is my perfect scenario for all season...close losses, baby!

I agree, I'm a STH too and will cheer in support of the team. But the losses aren't annoying this year, as it's half the plan (the other half being letting the young guys learn). I've always enjoyed being at NBA games, and this year, I'm really enjoying watching guys like Kemba, Bismack, Gerald, and Byron learn and grow into the building blocks of the future success of this franchise.
