To put it simply, I'm not a fan.

I've seen him play about 10 times going back to his freshman year (including tonight)..... There's no denying he is a physical specimen, though I wouldn't be surprised if he measures out surprisingly short (height/length) at the combine. I think he uses his athleticism too much against smaller defenders and will have a hard time translating his skills to the next level because he won't have the strength advantage anymore. He's not a particularly good shooter, not a good passer, not a good ball handler, and for such a strong guy, he isn't a great man defender.

I have him 12th overall and the 4th or 5th best PF

I actually really like Robinson. I prefer him over Sullinger, and I think his game will translate well to the NBA because of his strength. I just don't think we should draft him simply because the 'Cats have to many power forwards, unless they get rid of Tyrus and/or Biz ( Which I would be perfectly fine with. )

He's got PF mentality in a SF body. I like him better than Perry Jones, but not as much as I like Sullinger, who can play a solid PF.

I want to revisit this topic. Thomas Robinson is sitting around the 4 spot in many mock drafts and is the Bobcats 4th preferred prospect according to ESPN (Davis, Barnes, Drummond, Robinson). I've been reading up on this guy, seems like his strengths are his great athleticism, strength, non-stop work ethic and hustle, and rebounding. His weaknesses seem mostly to be about his size/length and lack of polish, whether he can translate his game to the NBA where there are plenty of other superb athletic beasts. After years of Diaw at the 4 (and to some extent Tyrus Thomas) having a young guy at the 4 spot who is a banger, hard worker, and aggressive seems so appealing, so that could easily be clouding my judgment, but I like what I've heard. Not to mention, this guy is having a heck of a year, getting a lot of press for Player of the Year (not that that matters so much, but it is reassuring to see actual production). And of course with all the family problems he went through, he almost definitely has to have his head on straight and be driven and focused.

Just wondering if people have any more thoughts on this guy. His description reminds me of Blake Griffin and I'm wondering if he can become a poorer version of him.

If Drummond, AD and Barnes are off the board and we end up with the worst position possible 4th (I don't trust the lottery) then I would pick him but I don't think he'll be a game changer. I figure his ceiling to be Elton Brand, or a bit below that.

If we don't land #1 and Davis, I'm hoping for Robinson. He's a beast and his skill set would compliment Biz nicely. Why the concerns on his size He's the prototypical PF size (6-10 240lb with 7-1 wingspan). Having high motor, elite level athlete at PF would be awesome after the crap effort we have gotten from Diaw.

    And read this.....
