He is an average player, not a building block. I reckon there are other teams who need him more than us.

I know he overachieved in his first couple seasons, but I haven't heard as much from him lately. For a young team like Sacramento, it's weird to see someone so young not be in "future plans". At only 25 years old, I wouldn't mind bringing him in since it appears that the return that we would have to send is pretty low. Since Thompson is the anti-Tyrus, and we could use a banger in the paint & on the boards with Mullens, I would be curious as to what Sacramento would want. Would Diaw + be enough? With their financial situation, no way they take T2..... or would they? I think DJ would get it, but don't want to give up Augustin for someone that appears to be a bench player in Sacramento. I guess it also depends on what Thompson wants on his new contract too.

Like DJ he's due for an extension right now. I don't think it's a valid argument plowman unless you feel the same about DJ.
Depends on what he'd want. At the right price I agree he would be an asset.

JT - 17 PER, 54 TS%, 56 eFG%...all career highs.
DJ - 17.7 PER, 53 TS%, 48 eFG%...also career highs except TS%.
"Greater"? I dunno...maybe...but either way it's not valid at all to say that JT isn't an asset. There's still the issues of new contracts for both guys...but I don't see how it affects one worse than the other.

We have DJ2, and I would hope DJA can get more than Jason Thompson. No thanks.
