Default Nets possibly interested in Diaw?

Hoopshype.com reported today in rumors section that the nets would be interested in Diaw's expiring contract for their first round pick from Houston, if Charlotte was willing to take on contracts extending past this year. Farmar and petro possibly. Interested?

I WOULD SAY DONE . Farmer has the makings of a nice back up behind Kemba with just one more year left on his contract. Petro has just one year left all so . Hes a young 7 ft center with one year left all so . But hasn't showed nothing .
We talking around a no#15 pick hear , With players like P Jones , T Jones , mabe a Henson, Zellers , Marshell , all around that area .
Bottem line is that pick worth 8 mil FOR 1 MORE YEAR .

I say go for it Farmer as KEMBAS back up puts this over the top for me . Augustine could still be moved for say a LA first .

I believed that this deal should be already done, we probably looking for the right deal to move DJA. I don't see why they won't pull the trigger on this move.

Even though it makes sense, it sounds too good to be true.

Acquiring Farmar would make dealing Augustine more likely.

My only question is how it would effect this season's cap space and if that makes a difference.

If the cap space isn't a deal breaker, then I would do it in a heartbeat.

Seeing as how both incoming players are only on the books for one more year after this, and their salaries equal that of Diaw... I would say its effect on us is pretty much nil.

    This trade effectively
-gives the Bobcats a draft pick
-gives the Bobcats 2 players that will be arguably more valuable than Diaw
-gives the Nets immediate cap relief for signing any free agents this season (Howard maybe)

Really no downside when you consider that bringing in Farmar and Petro is akin to extending Diaw for one more year. Given that the Bobcats aren't exactly even in the major free agent market this year or maybe even next. I don't see it as a problem

It does sound too good to be true though.

Morrow and Petro would just make that deal awesome plus the pick

Per Tony Parker, it sounds like Spurs and Knicks want Diaw too.

I would guess that they would wait for buy out though. I don't see them having anything to give up.

Not really if we take back any contract beyond this year it allows them to save 9 milion after this year . But we have to be very careful hear and not get stuck with contracts from hell . Imthinking contracts with no more than 1 year left .
Other assets that might come in handy right now is our 3.5 tpe execption whitch i hope we use to our advantage some way.
DJ is another asset with nice filler contracts like White , Mullens , Williams., Brown
We should be able to make a couple good moves .
I really dont think Cho LETS US GET SCREWED

Mathews , Felton, Crawford , Portland out
    Diaw , DJ , 3.5 tpe Charlotte out .
We taking on Mathews contract hear whitch i think is a deal breaker , All so a possable one year. 5 mil Crawford contract . Felts is a expiring .
Portland does this for cap purposes whitch management wants bad

Questin is . Is Mathews worth a TT type contract.

Per Wojo, Howard is gone to NJ either Thursday or July 1 and this Diaw trade is an important part of NJ's plan to make room for him & Deron's & Lopez's extensions.

Getting that pick from Houston is huge and worth bringing back salary for one more year. Getting Dwight out of our division is the icing on the cake & I would love for the Bobcats to facilitate that with this trade.
