Default Bradley Beal or Michael Kidd Gilchrist

If we get a pick that isnt the #1 would you rather have us pick MKG or Beal? I still dont know yet....Wanna see everyone else's thoughts

MKG. The guy has excellent BBall IQ, is a true leader on and off the court, and has a lot of potential. I sincerely see him becoming a good-to-great scorer after a few years in the league. Plus he brings excitement to his team. Beal, on the other hand, is going to Henderson's clone but a slightly better shooter. He won't light it up from three but will be ok. That, and his aggressiveness, are the only things I can see him having better than Hendo. I don't see Beal ever being more than a 3rd option and I can see MKG being a solid 2nd option after a few years of developing his offensive game.

Solid argument but a more legit argument here would be Bradley Beal or Jeremy Lamb. But yeah, MKG isn't really GREAT at one thing, decent all-around player. Beal will probably be more reliable in the long run as far as offense. MKG is more hyped up right now. Only time will tell.

Gilchrist hasn't shown any offensive potential outside of transition offense and cuts to the basket. His jumper is going to hold him back from being a consistent threat from three and his ball handling isn't as strong as you would like. His realtive lack of size is also going to hurt his production as he doesn't have the height or bulk to match up with the growing trend of big SFs. He is, however, very hardworking and plays at a high energy level. He knows what he's good at and plays within himself, won't cause any trouble, and works well in a team concept. While not an elite athlete, he doesn't have any real weakness so he should fit in very well on an NBA court. He hits the glass hard and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. He'll get the majority of his buckets in the open court and in the flow of the game.

He's the ultimate glue guy, and that is both good and bad. He isn't elite in any aspect of the game, so he won't be a #1 guy, but he doesn't have any real weaknesses either. He gives me a lot of "less knucklehead Tony Allen vibes"

Beal is going to be a very dependable offensive player. He can handle the ball, drive, and has elite range. From the get-go, he'll be able to cause matchup problems because he score on his opponent in a variety of ways. He is very intelligent on the floor and manages to produce no matter what situation he's in (as evidenced by his strong freshman season playing alongside two chuckers). He's a very strong defender and hits the glass as hard as any other guard out there. On the negative side, he's a solid, but not elite athlete and is of average height (6'4"ish) for a SG which might cause some trouble with the growing trend of either super quick combos like Ellis or the new wave of lanky tweeners like Turner/George.

He's a very safe pick, in that you know you're going to get a smart, tough, well-rounded player who doesn't have any weaknesses. He might not be explosive enough to be a true #1 guy, but he's exactly the type of player you want as your #2. Stylistically, he's very similar to my boy Eric Gordon, but hopefully he won't have the same injury concerns.

You really can't go wrong with either guy. I think Beal will be a better pro because he projects to be a better offensive player, but it really depends on what exactly you're looking for

For me it is whoever is wearing the better suit on draft night (in other words I am happy with either)
    Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Kema Walker The Core, The Future...
    Bizmack Biyombo
    Jeffrey Taylor

Swedd: NBAdraft.net compares MKG to AI2. Is that a fair comparison?

Gilchrist isn't nearly as athletic or as good a passer as Iguodala.

You could get away with calling him a less athletic Gerald Wallace (but with more polish) or maybe a less physical Ron Artest, but I still really think Tony Allen is a good fit
