I understand the logic and appreciate the thinking. However, the idea is questionable for two reasons. First, just because a guy does well for his position (MKG's 8 rebounds and two blocks) do not mean the stats translate the same way as another position. Wings get blocks off of help defense and certainly pay dividends. However, Davis would be an interior defender that would make people question how they attacked the rim. He might have a couple of more blocked shots, but he'll deny a lot more shots simply from players never confronting him at the rim with a shot. Even if Henson and MKG post those numbers, that doesn't mean they're contributing the way Davis is. Second, we need the absolute best players we can get. We need undeniable franchise talent. Davis seems to be that. MKG and Henson look nice, but whether they become cornerstones is questionable, at least from the perspective of analysts that know a lot more than me.
I want a definite stud on the team Davis seems to be that guy and many think we have yet to see much of his talent.
